Nintendo Puts Out Own Offensive Ad

While Sony is still reeling from the fallout of their Dutch PSP ad which offended quite a few for being racist, Nintendo could also find itself neck deep in flack for putting out an ad that could only be described as "shapist". The billboard for the DS Lite is obviously offensive to people of substantial weight, regardless of color, race or creed. If you happen to be one of them please read the next line before you launch your own protest campaign. It's a joke!

Is this true? Is nintendo and sony's advertising groups sharing ideas and thought to get a kick out of this? Did some angst ridden teen on riddlen make the design? Is that a no? Good. Though I dont see anything wrong with Sony's current ad campaign, out of a hundred or so ad pics to sort through, the big picture clears it up. Its funny now sony likes to stir up controversy and debate with many things they do. Then again even bad ads and contriversy is good for pr and getting the word out.

This is ridiculous. The editor clearly didn't mention it was a fake in the first place. The last sentence was only added after clever people noticed and stated it in their comments.

The whole thing is still an utter embarrassment for the QJ editor who was stupid enough to believe the fake ad.

If anything, this proves how incredibly idiotic all the complaints about the Sony ad were. I hope this issue is resolved now.

Their response should have been: "The ad isn't racist, if you think it is you're a moron." and that should have been the end of it. Congratulations , some of you guys read CAD. I'll first say that it's a fine comic strip, and Absath can be a very funny guy.

With that said, this was posted with a link to CAD. There is no way somebody who would read CAD and saw his news update with this picture could take it any other way than as a joke. They probably had to clarify that it was a joke in the update because the lot of you are too slow and uptight. Get a grip. It's *****ing CAD. Get over yourselves. It's just a joke, and it's here because, however obscurely, it does have relevance to the controversy over the PSP ad.

This isn't the first time that they've posted things that had little to do with the PSP, like when they got ripped off with thier Alienware laptop that didn't exist. None of you complained then.

I think it is sad that people can't sit back and relax about rasism and sexism. The fact is that yes racism still does exist. Yes, sexism still does exist, however discrimation between any two races are not at the level, this does only apply to first world countries, that it once was.

The fact that Sony's add campain is misconstrued as racist is a sad commantary on how over reactive todays socity is. Certain people are uncomfortable accpting that no longer are they persicuted, and look for stupid things like a Sony add campain to rant at the world.

Relax and realise that it is possible that things called "metaphores" still exist in the world. It is sad how focused we are on the literal and that on a gaming site, where people come to excape stupid ***** like this. We find it making front page news.

Wake up. If you want to see racism and sexism, take a trip to most middle easten countries, ie israeli-palestinian conflict or the treatment of women in some countries in the reigon, or countries like somalia where women every day are raped and have their brests removed so they cant properly care of their children. There are horrors in this world, but a billboard add is not one of them.

It's not a real ad. I was wondering why the artwork looked familiar, and then I read the article. Unlike most of you, I read the whole article though. It's from Ctrl+Alt+Del. And it wasn't on any billboard. Honestly... Aren't we supposed to be the intelligent ones?
