Nintendo put out a 3DS gag order on companies ? |

The release of the 3DS is just around the corner. In this final stretch of waiting days, Nintendo has somehow managed to keep a majority of information still tightly under wraps. Word on the street is that they've sent out a memo to publishers asking them to refrain from saying much about their latest handheld wonder.
Rich George, new Executive Editor for IGN's Nintendo Channels, is claiming that a gag order has in fact been sent out by Nintendo, particularly in anticipation of a so-called information blow-out come January of next year. "I think you guys ought to expect a flood of information... late January 2011? I'm hearing Nintendo is keeping all developers/ publishers at bay so... once there's a green light... brace yourself."
The January window seems to already have a specific date, too, but, "I know of a rumored date they will talk, but no definite confirmation. When I have it, so will you!"
We'll be keeping you posted on that.

It also might be because my friend showed me his brand new Inspirion Duo(Dual Core).
This peice of hardware is AMAZING. It's capable of HD Video playback. It costs 549.99USD.Youtube it.
I think with all the competition out and on the horizon Nintendo & Sony need to lower their prices when it comes to the handheld market.
Sorry for going in a different direction:)

I don't work for dell...I'm just really impressed with this tech:)

If you're going to spend that kind of money then spend a little more for a full blown proc that can do leaps and bounds more.

Having said that, I'm not sure why it's being compared to a dedicated gaming platform like the DS.

I think rather than comparing, they're contemplating where to spend the big $$$ at.

What excites me most about the Inspirion Duo is that my co-worker was playing Radian Silvergun through a Sega Saturn Emulator on the go...I've also seen the DS Emulator played on the tablet. It truly is something special.
For the price Nintendo and Sony ask for their limited handhelds they should offer more.
Just my opinion

I know right? Pretty damn pathetic using a ZERO in my name huh?
So sad, that pathetic loser will never stop spending all his energy to 1 up me. Yet I find it so satisfying that I affect him on such a grand scale.
Oh well, at least QJ was a nice place to hang out this past week without that turd acting like a damn fool all over the site. Anyone else notice that both mr common douchebag and the fake is0haven logged in AT THE SAME TIME after an entire week? He's such a lonely child. Poor guy :(

Would you suggest a netbook with an external media drive or just a new laptop?
I only ask because you seem to be capable of describing pros and cons regardless of the company producing the item. thnx in advance

1. Throughput and bandwidth. Nothing says sucky like having a fully decked out video card only to have it throttled back by a crappy CPU. Even the fastest Core i7 CPU is bottlenecking just about any SLI system. I've kept the same two video cards (dual 8800GTX) and every time I build a new system I put those in first and benchmark it. The video cards themselves get faster and faster with each new generation of CPUs and that's testing ONLY the video cards.
2.The best video card you can afford.
As for brand name. They're all about the same. They all have comparable defect rates. Out of all of them Dell seems to have the worst but...I've gotten a crap load of people up and running on Dell laptops and none of them have had a problem. Meanwhile, a buddy of mine has had a hand full come into his work (personal favors) and they've had busted hinges...stuff like that.
At the moment I'm a fan of HP having brought back the Compaq line. To me, very nice looking. IBM or Levono, have those at work 100% and I HATE THEM! Each model or rather each individual unit has something different wrong with it. Drives me nuts! But with IBM, not much gaming there.
Something else to consider. Dual core i3 and i5 are damn near the same thing and you pay more for the i5 (unless someone is blowing them out) so stay away from the dual core i5. If you can't afford i7 then look for a quad core i5. Again, if you can't quit reach that level then an i3 is still nothing to scuff at.
I'm pretty sure any model will have tons of HDD space and people are throwing memory in these things like it's going out of style! I walked through a Best Buy the other day and I don't think I saw a model under 4GB. Minimum 2GB. Get more if you can as memory is dirt cheap right now.
That just leaves the video card. Once you've narrowed down a model line, get the specific model with the best video card you can afford.
Start here:

On the left hand side just start narrowing down the options you want. That will give you a good idea of what's out there.
If you have any other questions just let me know. Happy hunting!

Once you get a list of possible purchases. The best thing you can ever do is google for reviews on those models! Here from actual people who have actually used those specific models.

Yesterday evening I saw a Windows based N64 Emu run SM64 with AA on the Inspirion Duo Tablet/Netbook. It looked amazing.
I think netbook intergrated graphics Processors exceed the graphic limitations of our current gen handhelds.

Halo on max? That's not exactly a benchmark. Put Crysis on there and see how it does.
Halo and emulators are childs play these days. Pun intended ;p

I wonder why the gag order. Maybe because the PSP2 is in development, but you have to wonder if nintendo is hiding anything, good or bad.
