Nintendo Places 5th in Top 100 Developers |

Develop Magazine released their list of Top 100 Developers according to the 2005 sales of their games in the United Kingdom. Nintendo placed 5th in the list, a move up from 28th the year before. The Nintendo DS and Nintendogs were noted as the largest reasons why."It’s a measure of the success of DS in the UK (as everywhere else) that Nintendo managed to jump 23 places this year. An amazing 79 percent of its revenue came from DS software, with the port of trusty old Super Mario 64 being the single biggest seller. But in true Pok?n-style, it was the three Nintendogs releases which really gained Nintendo places - over £6 million ($10 million) in a mere three months while Mario Kart DS and Wario Ware Touched! also performed well."
The company that took #1 was EA Canada who developed FIFA and Need For Speed which became mega-hits in the UK. EA Canada was #1 the year before as well. Click "Read" for the full Top 100.

and then there's the fact that ea are up there, all they do is make derivative clones of their previous titles; they aim for the lowest common denominator with the likes of fifa and nfs....
'games' are constantly changing, but it looks to me like they're getting worse.

nintendo are aiming rev. at non-gamers, and i think that's all good and well, but i'm not a non-gamer. as such this means a company which usually produces some real good stuff is starting down a path which won't interest me. what if the next zelda (after twilight princess) is dumbed down to the extent that it can simply be played 'casually' and by waving that remote control?
havign said that there's almost no one in my household who'll play games with me as they're not accessible enough... so maybe this new approach will simply lead ot the 'hardcore gamer' such as myself having more friends/family to play with.
ps, i'm glad no one argued the ea point.

now how about one for a non handheld console?
shows the developers priorities... non handhelds have greater abilities and therefore greater wow factor, which is what developers are looking for

no game should have a glitch, that is selling an unfinished product. and theres no such thing as a computer glitch, only human error, computers just do what they're told.
