Nintendo patents vibrate feedback feature for DS

Ó

That was quick. I just reported earlier about a probable E3 announcement of a new DS 2, and already, we have here another piece fitting to that puzzle. A patent filed by Nintendo was just found, and apparently, it appears that the DS will be featuring vibration feedback through the stylus.

What the patent reads, in summary, is that you will be able to feel the stylus vibrating when, for example, you attack your enemy. As to how much vibration there will be, it will be calibrated to in-game events. The stronger the attack, the stronger the vibrations, and vice-versa.

this definitely ups the excitement. maybe it can even revive the competition among the two handhelds. and as mangod said, equal the level of playing field?

Sony PSP and Nintendo DS have different destinations and desires to gamers.

Hope DS won't vibrate.

I predict that with the new hardware, the DS-2 will have more "PSP-like" games. I chose to get a PSP this gen, but there's no way I'm gonna buy a PSP-2 if they price it like they priced the PSPgo.

As long as the DS itself doesn't rumble, it's ok.

Sounds like you two don't know much about the lady-folk.

Pretty much anything that vibrates can be used for "fun-time" ;)

The stylus will probably only vibrate when it's touching the screen though... soooo...

How would the stylus vibrate? would it need batteries or something to power the vibration? Maybe it would charge when you put it in the stylus holder of the ds :P

sounds expensive.

i doubt it would have that unless it sends some type of wireless signal to the ds.

i'd find it bothersome if it started to do that in a touch only game example sonic chonicles
