Metallic Rose Nintendo DS handheld - Image 1Those of you who were expecting to get downloadable content for your Nintendo DS will be disappointed by this news we're bringing today. According to a report from Gamasutra, a Nintendo representative squashed previous reports that the top-selling handheld will be able to access full downloads through a future Wii channel.

The recent interview New York Times conducted with Nintendo bigwig Reggie Fils-Aime about the supposed DS downloadable content was vetoed with a recent statement issued by Nintendo of America. The representative was quoted saying:

Users can download games to play on Wii and, in the future, the Nintendo DS will be able to receive demo versions of some DS games from Wii, but not the entire game. The demo will be erased once the Nintendo DS is turned off.

Japan has already launched its "Everyone's Nintendo" Wii channel and it offers a lot of content for many Nintendo titles, as well as DS game demos. While no news has been released when the service will hit other locations, it seems that we'll all have to be content with merely downloadable DS demos for now.

Hmmm...

Whenever I read about heavy handed corp stuff like this, I think to myself "Yeah...Thank God I own a flashcart. Take your downloaded game demos and upload them to a server where the sun doesn't shine."

OOOHHHHHHHH!!!!

THE HATERS JUST GOT BURN3D!!! You go daikon! Hater(s), if you don't like the damn systems, or companies, just leave, and don't read anything. I don't go around hate'n on PS3 and 360. I don't make an ass out of myself trying to hate on one system that kicks both PS3 and 360 in sales, and fun. (don't forget innovation too) So, get your sorry asses off this page, and don't come back. N Player aginst N Haters - MetroidStatick

I don't hate the Wii

In fact, I picked one up over the weekend. That's right, Mister Common Sense now owns a Wii console! I had a blast playing Zelda Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, and Smash Brothers. But something was wrong, the motion controls didn't work. Upon closer inspection, I noticed I bought and was playing a Gamecube! I also noticed the graphics look exactly the same as a Wii and does almost all the same things except for the gimmick minigame controller! I also saved a considerable amount of money ($60 new vs. $400+.) So yes, I would have to say the Wii is still an overpriced and overhyped P.O.S. Shame on you Nintendo! No wonder you no longer sell or make Gamecube games so you can sell your ripoff Wii.

You know what's sad?

Do you think I would care you said anything bad about the XBOX or PS3?
