Nintendo hangs up on DSi Skype rumor

Possible. That would be the word that could best describe the concept of Skype on Nintendo's DSi. At least for Skype, that is. A rep for the VoIP compnay has said that  their service's growth strat does include making it available on any device.

NOT gonna happen.


To quote, the strate includes "extending the Skype infrastructure and platform to bring Skype to functionality wherever, whenever, and on whatever device or site people choose to use it." It would, therefore, be technically possible.

But in actuality? Nintendo picks up their share of responsibility on this bit of rumor, and takes the straightforward route: "We have no plans to release a Skype application for Nintendo DS or DSi."

And just like that you can kiss your DSi-Skype pixie wishdusts away.
