Nintendo announces new 3DS handheld

3ds Nintendo has finally revealed the new hardware they've been working on -- a 3D-capable Nintendo DS called, appropriately enough, the 3DS.

The company won't be doing the official unveiling until E3, so details on how the handheld's 3D support will work are still scarce, although it has been confirmed that 3D glasses won't be required. Nintendo also revealed that the 3DS will be backwards compatible with older DS and DSi software.

The 3DS will reportedly be out in Japan before March 2011. It will presumably be playable -- or at the least, demoed -- at E3 this year.

arent they always saying theyre not gonna release a wiiHD without other technology OTHER than HD? but theyre always releasing a new DS with maybe one new feature but mostly something is just a different size (DS Lite and DS XL) i bet 3d will be its only new feature

it would be cool...although i have no interest in the DS (or nintendo in general anymore)
i do also believe that 3D is the future, but still they should have just made it on the DS

Please consider putting the GBA-Support back in Nintendo -_-
I won't get a DSi XL due to that missing feature.

hi there we could use some high capacity flash memory like 8 gb ssd or 32 or 64 gb ssd or the new 32 48 64 gb sdxc cards oh buy the way i have had hard drive and flash products soo a hard drive last 3.33 years max soo 33.333 years thats 11.11111 hard drive failuers i can not wait for 2 terabyte sdxc acrds come out too replace hard drives
