Lara Croft Movie Makeover Coming - Image 1

Sorry to dash any hopes out there, but it looks like Transformers star Megan Fox won't be starring in the new Lara Croft movie after all. Look at the bright side. They may choose someone with a more robust... acting experience. I hope they choose someone good though. Those are some pretty big.... shoes... to fill.

Following the rumors that Fox will portray Lara, her spokesperson denied any involvement, saying "She's not involved in the movie at all." Awww.

More on the movie though, it seems that it will be giving Lara a fresh start, discarding the storylines in the Angelina Jolie films. Lara will be given a new origin, new adventures, and even new love interests. You can also scratch out Jolie to reprise her role. They're getting a new actress as well - which they won't do until they find a writer and a director.

So who can fill the bra - erhm - role of Lara Croft? Any votes? Mine's with Rhona Mitra, the original live-action model for Lara. She also plays Sonja in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

This still hasn't got ANYTHING to do with PSP.

I've got some news you could post here as well:

British researchers have discovered that cows produce more milk if you keep them at a personal range and call they by their names.

"...call them by their names."

She's beautiful, yes, but she's not looking like she have a strong personnality... The only one for me will always be Angelina Jolie (by the way, "Jolie" in french (my native language) means "beautiful"), who is the perfect leading women, and surely one of the few that looks credible when muscled men are all in fear of her, lol.

I dislike Rhona Mitra Isaac, she's a poor actress I'd say, and not really good looking (TOO BIG breast).

I'd go for Milla Jovovich even if she really lacks the "big boobs" laura croft normally have. Still, Angie too was lacking boobs, and they simply gave her a super big bra so it looked like she had that much breast, maybe they could do the same...

Or a newcomer. A girl we never saw and that looks REALLY like laura croft in the games (well, that looks like angie in a way, since new games are based on the looks of angie... but in younger and all).

» I'm from the US, but I took five years of french...

And didn't know what jolie meant! lol jk

je ne suis pas un bon etudiant, parce que je ne fais pas mes devoirs!!

lol...

» Hm

Milla Jovovich was also one of my first choices, but then I keep imagining her as Joan of Arc, screaming wild-eyed with blood all over her. So that kinda made me think twice.

Err... isn't the big breasts part like a requirement for someone to play Lara? lol

But I agree with you, they can't cast anyone who can play Lara better than Angelina. She's perfect for the role. Strong, beautiful (as you said ;) ) and most importantly, she gives respect to the character. Lara isn't just about the curves with Jolie.

» Well, I only took one semester of French...

I always thought beautiful in French was either beau or magnifique or... ah there we go. According to Google, "pretty" is "joli" (without the e) in French. Close enough, I guess. Hehehe!

Anyways. Hmmm. I like the sound of Jovovich as Lara Croft, (and indeed, I'm a fan of hers! - and that includes her roles in the Resident Evil movies!) but... for some reason I'm thinking she may be a bit too androgynous/butch for a Croft role.

More like, "Those are some pretty big BOOBs to fill. Remember the ps1 games of tomb raider, on the covers Lara Croft has gigantic Knockers

Thank you SolidSnake that was the joke.

Wouldn't want her as Lara, mediocre acting talent.

Did that completely go over you head?

That's what the author was getting at.

» YESSS!!

Woo, they aren't going to kill the franchise! *I complained about Fox's lack of acting talent in the last post*

I doubt we'll see anyone do Lara justice like Jolie did - but thank the gawds we don't have to put up with Fox.

As long as its made well and the story is good with a cast delivering it in the best way then it makes no deference who plays Lara.

by Shatterdome - 2009-01-28 17:12
» why get rid of Jolie ?

are they too cheap to pay for her or something ?

by Genotype - 2009-01-28 17:19
» Maybe it's more of an origin story

That would mean they would need a younger girl, which would explain how the Fox rumor got started.
