New Pokemon manga to target older audiences

mangaPokemon has been around for a long time, but the game's wholesome appeal remains the same. The thing is, a lot of Pokemon players have gone up in the age bracket in that time, so Nintendo will be directing its efforts to win those fans back to the franchise.

Pokemon Black and White may have had semblances of that effort, but in Japan, Nintendo is stepping it up with manga directed to the older fans of the Pokemon world. According to the Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, the aforementioned manga will be making its debut this March.

The Weekly Shounen targets an older audience than that of the Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine, where the previous Pokemon manga series have been published.

The image above shows the new manga series' protagonist, but no other details have been confirmed so far.

I might actually read that.
Also, I think there are people in the older age audience that still watch the anime and play the games.

same here. i've been waiting for a more mature twist to the series, and manga would certainly help push things in that direction

What I don't get is why Black and White have so many damn cute Pokémon this gen if it's targetted at an older audience.

the old pokemon are still there, there are just alot of new additions. They arent bad, you just hate change. I am going to read this manga, and I still watch the anime. I love the original 151, but I love the other 500-something as well.

i say after ash lost charizard, I stopped watching. Like the older ones, Maybe if the fights are like bleach, dbz, or kinda fast paste and drawn close to those styles I may check it out

They should definitely bring back the old pokemon. i stopped watching/playing the games once they went over the 356 pokemon barrier, way to many pokemon and way to many weird names. and ever since ash's voice changed..it just didnt feel the same anymore. :-| :/

the anime is awful. its is so bad and moves at a snails pace. and the need to take off team rocket cuz they are useless then maybe i would consider watching for and episode or 2
