New GAME album to help in battle against Multiple Sclerosis |
Ó
If you think that all battles are fought using the proverbial sword and shield, or even firearms, better think again. Squall, or rather Piano Squall, is in a quest to defeat a dreaded opponent not with his usual gunblade but with his piano. Yes, you read that right. No, he's not going to hoist the piano over his shoulders and throw it at the enemy. Piano Squall - pianist Michael Gluck in real life - is helping in the battle with the disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and he's going to do just that with his awesome piano performances and his album. 20% of the profit will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Piano Squall managed to raise and donate US$ 9600 last year and with his new charity CD, entitled GAME, he's hoping to top that record. With remarkable piano renditions of video game and anime themes from the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Cross, Super Mario World, as well as InuYasha, it's possible that his latest charity effort will outdo last year's success. Heck, the tracklist even includes Mega Man II's "Dr. Wily's Castle Stage 1", how hardcore can a pianist get?
Gluck made sure to receive proper licenses from the tune's owners, so you can be assured that the CD is legit through and through. So, if you want to do good to society and be cool about it as well, it's best if you support this noble cause.
