Need for Speed: Carbon from Electronic Arts sure is coming along mighty fine... If the above comparison doesn't convince you, maybe the rest of the screenshots (for the 360) below will.

Need for Speed: Carbon goes vrrroooooom! - Image 1 Need for Speed: Carbon goes vrrroooooom! - Image 2 Need for Speed: Carbon goes vrrroooooom! - Image 3

Slick ride, huh? By observation alone, gamers would know that the whole Need for Speed franchise has a solid fanbase. But what about those people who aren't into fast cars? They must be grumbling that this game is the same old racing game since the dawn of time. Or is it? Well, customizable cars, realistic car physics (not to mention the realistic graphics and lighting), and drift racing mode. The game's positively jam-packed like ten elephants in a VW Buggy.

This game is coming out on PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, GBA, DS, GameCube, Wii, PC, and mobile versions, and the PS3 and 360 versions are going to have multiplayer modes. Can't November 10 get any nearer?

Do they always show screens of the handheld's console counterparts? Oh well, I'm KINDA anticipating this game, but it kinda looks the same as Most Wanted, although there is free-roam and more emphasis on the crew feature.

# realistic car physics?Guest 2006-09-07 20:24
If the "realistic car physics" are anything like most wanted... quite possibly the worst driving physics in recent times... i wont be playing it. Its a shame really, better physics would make it so much more enjoyable:( .

What actually does this "comparison" show? Before? Before what? Before finishing the work on the engine? Before adding effects? Who cares how it looks before adding effects?

Are they just updated still pictures and not actually in game graphics do to the fact that the position of the cars in the same exact spot from picture to picture. Maybe it's just running demo of the same thing.

# Buy itGuest 2006-09-07 23:26
People shoud be rewarded when they make a good work and this one seems to excelent.

If there are people who almost didn´t had the chance to get a PSP (hardware) because they are expensive and the money is short due to poor conditions, and perhaps non-buying options could help them, anyone who can (€€€ or $$$) should buy the original!

This game sure seems to worth those 50€ it´ll cost and if you want to play it, buy it (or at least try it on DH and if you like it, buy it). Noone likes to see their hard and well done work not to compensate (€€€).

well all of them are clearly not in game except the last 2 with huds. i really have my doubts that a psp can produce graphics like that thou, with antialiasing 2 :/.... unless it runs @ 333mhz which it won't.

but then again tekken looks awesome

Post processing effects was applied and produce the "after" images.

That's so obvious - things get brighter and has more contrast...try playing the underground 2 and enable "Enhance Contrast" you see the similar result.

haven't seen Test Drive Unlimited? that game was so much better!

Yeah I see those and they look pretty good but the cars are in the same exact location on the first two pics. I was just wondering. This game does seem alot better than rivals though. I think I might buy the PS3 version.(hoping)

well geez, who cares about those who arent into fast cars, they wont buy a racing game anyway, so why the frack make a game appeal to them? =D

I STILL wait for the day when an NFS game will have proper physics, doesnt have to be GTR physics, just some kind of physics other than the same old NFS3 physics.. (Porche Unleashed was the only NFS game to ever have what i call proper physics)
