NDS Lite Soars!

The Nintendo DS Lite has soared in sales during its release month of March. The NDS Lite showed up on store shelves (and were quickly taken away) at the start of this month. The Japanese swipped all of the Nintendo DS systems they could find, even getting in quarels with one another over it. The NDS has been in so much demand that the popular import company of Lik-Sang is sold out, other importers are charging up to 300 USD for one system and retail stores knocked up prices in select areas of Japan. The Japanese seemed to be thrilled about the new release of this small, sexy unit and the sales show it! According to a Japanese media site, Nintendo sold 104,452 NDS Lites! This number is 3 times the ammount of PSPs sold and roughly 100 times that of the Xbox 360! All of the statistics can be viewed to the left shoing all of the sales of the major gaming systems. If you wish to purchase the NDS Lite, you might have to wait a few months for other region's releases or purchase one from an online importer or ebay for a couple of hundred bucks!

This reminds me of the time back when the Super Famicom (SNES) was released in Japan and people were queueing round the block for them. I remember some poor bastard was mugged by someone who was after his Super Famicom!
