To use NDS homebrew, you need a flash cart. The best carts currently use SD or mini SD cards, and are made by the companys GBAlpha (M3) and Supercard. The M3 costs more, but is slightly higher quality.
These also allow you to run downloaded games (called ROM's) off them, far better than the PSP ISO loading, and the roms are much smaller files, so you can fit more!

If you want 100% NDS compatibility and 100% GBA compatibility, get a M3.
Both the SC and M3 has "Lite" versions, which fit perfectly into the DS Lite GBA slot (and do not stick out. they are the same size as the dust cover!). Both use MicroSD cards to store roms, homebrew, movies, music, ect..
There is also the G6 Lite, which is the same thing as a M3 except instead of buying MicroSD cards, it has built in memory (which only goes up to 1GByte right now, which MicroSD cards are currently up to 1GByte, but 2GByte versions are coming soon)
