Microsoft tops 2007 MCV retail survey |
Ó
Microsoft was founded back in the mid '70s, the multinational computer technology corporation has achieved and garnered much success. And even after more than 20 years, the guys over at Microsoft shows no signs of slowing down after bagging the top spot of MCV's 2007 Retail Survey.2007 has been a fortuitous year for Microsoft. With Halo 3 and Xbox 360 achieving high market sales all year round, gamers from UK acclaim their appreciation by voting for Microsoft as "best over all company" and having the "best attitude and quality to retail." The debut of Halo 3 back in September which was graced by the likes of rapper Pharrel Williams and actor Christian Slater also received high marks from UK gamers - it was heralded as the "highlight of the year. "
But kudos went out to Nintendo for finishing high up in the polls. The Japanese gaming giant was bested by Microsoft in only a number of key categories, and the Nintendo Wii also succeeded in garnering high ratings even while shadowed by Halo 3.
Despite supermarket trade infringement woes and criticisms on the company's discounting of new game releases, there's an air of optimism for the Redmond giant in 2008 in light of their recent success.
