Jeux France had an interview with Richard Vorodi, Game Designer at Nintendo Software Technology Corporation, and Kensuke Tanabe, Metroid Series Producer. They talk about both Metroid Prime: Hunters (DS) and Metroid Prime 3 (Wii). Not much real information is revealed. They talk about how proud they are of what they've accomplished on both the DS and Gamecube and their thoughts on Wii and E3. One interesting point was raised about a Metroid MMOFPS along the lines of Gunz or Huxley though.Jeux France: Many players would love to see the franchise evolve in some kind of MMOFPS. Is this possible ? How would you like to see the franchise evolve ?
Richard Vorodi : That's a really interesting point. I didn't know that many players wanted to see a Metroid MMOFPS. I would imagine that anything is possible if there's a solid gameplay idea there. We can expect the series controls to evolve even more on the new Nintendo Wii.
Although an interesting idea, it would only be good as a Metroid Prime Hunters sequel. I'd say the main Metroid and Metroid Prime series should remain Adventure games. Fans of the series don't really like the focus going into shooter elements. For the full translated interview, click "Read."
