Media Create software sales for 12/23: Wii, DS games dominate |
Ó
If the top 30 games in the Media Create Japan software sales charts is an indication of a platform's popularity, then Nintendo is firmly in first place. 25 games in the list were for either the Nintendo Wii or DS. The remaining five games were split between the PS2 and PS3 at four to one respectively. On the top of the charts is Nintendo's Mario Party DS which sold 330,000 copies during the week. This bumps up the total number of units sold to 1,156,000. Square Enix's Final Fantasy IV comes in at the second position with a respectable 288,000 units, not bad for the game's debut on the list. At the number three is Nintendo's Wii Fit, selling 214,000 copies.
