Maxis details new Spore games for DS, Wii |

Maxis has revealed more info about the new Wii and DS entries in the Spore franchise. These two new games -- Spore Hero for the Wii and Spore Hero Arena for DS -- are scheduled for release this year.
Spore Hero for Wii lets players create their own hero as they try to save their new home world from destruction. Players can collect over 250 parts for the Spore Creature Creator throughout the course of the game. Waggle controls are in, of course.
Spore Hero Arena also lets players control their own hero but it has a decidedly more expansionist mindset. Players will guide their hero from planet to planet to fight local champions and collecting new parts, abilities, and upgrades along the way
The DS game will also feature multiplayer capabilities as players can battle with up to three friends locally or play with a friend over Wi-Fi.
