Mario Stamps Heading to Japan in May

Mario on stamps? Well why not, many people suggest he is the most reconized games character in the world. Mario had a brief appearance as a first day cover in the USA a few years ago, but oddly didn't actually appear on the stamp itself, despite appearing on the first day cover. The stamp in question featured a couple of children playing a generic video game.

This time though, Mario appears to have a range of stamps available, including various pixilated graphics from the Super Mario universe. The set will be available at the end of May this year and features a sheet of ten 80 YEN stamps.
