Lupi's Zelda Homebrew Demo Released! |
After waiting several months for this homebrew game, a demo
is finally available from Lupi. Lupi made and released this demo for Z3 (A
Zelda-fan expo) as he was asked if he could. Now, this demo is much further
along then many PSP homebrew demos/betas, so I was very impressed by its
overall quality. The level design was perfect from what I played of it, taking
advantage of both the Zelda
strategy/puzzles and adding some new things not found in Zelda games before (jump mushrooms).
Overall, this is a great homebrew game, and I can't wait for the full release! So, you can download the demo below and go through a full tutorial and 3 sublevels with a boss. I love the side-scrolling action for this title, something of which we haven't seen in many Zelda games for quite some time. Lupi also uploaded a gameplay video of the entire demo on Youtube which can be viewed below!

First. OMG!!!
you know it OMG!!
Nice but he can jump too high ? Too weird, I think. There is no shadow under him. O.o
Fourth OMG!!
Best homebrew game ive ever played cant wait for the full release X-D. nice work lupi
He can double jump which is quite new, and then he does the spin which makes him go up higher. Although, this adds more difficulty to the game (more strategic instead of the one single jumps)
"Now, this demo is much further along then many PSP homebrew demos/betas, so I was very impressed by its overall quality. " First off, the grammar is wrong (then -> than). But what I want to know is -- why do DS apps have to be described using the PSP as a frame of reference? When you do this, you tarnish this handheld console's image.
well done thx lupi!! best hombrew out there i think, this is a rweal gasme not some rotten cheese port. what about the music. kinda lame, but excellent game soi far. looking forward to it. ps... the psp scene sucks hole without a touch screen. nice looking console but @$$ 4 games.
I compared it to PSP and NDS (sorry about the grammer mistake, I didn't have time to proof read the article and everything looked a.o.k upon a quick glance). As far as why, just a simple reference. The PSP has seen several betas and demos that fail to impress and many have complained (PSP Scene) that the NDS fails to impress with homebrew.
This game is one of the better homebrew games I have seen so far, if this is the demo then I can not wait to see the full version. Oh, and I disagree with #8, the PSP is as good for homebrew as the Nintendo DS. It all comes down to a question of your personal ideals and what you look for in a handheld system.

I've never really seen anything special to anything in the "psp scene". The homebrew has the feel of a game off Newgrounds. Emulators are always progressing, but that's exactly what I have a GP2X and PC for.
Argh, that's the most common error one can make in an article. Then refers to a future time, then I'll do this. Than is used for comparison --> Read my above post, I explain why I missed this mistake in the writing... English is my first language, and that is why I was hired for the job - because I can speak and write it well. If you want to flame me, feel free to, but consider the consequences.
Any plans to release this for PSP? All it has is crap homebrew games.
Looks like it's worth checking out. I don't have a DS yet but I would definitely check it out if I did! I have a PSP 2.6 fw and TA-082 Mb (not very lucky there), but will be gettin a DS soon. I like checking out peoples own creations. It's great to see people being able to make their own games and apps for any console. Homebrew is very exciting. The game looks great from the video, and I definitely don't have the skills to make something like that. Almost puts me in awe.
It doesn't have MMD support...That right there sucks...I was really looking forward to playing it on MMD, but it's a no go. Anyway, great work! Just please make a MMD compatable version plz.
ohhh the musics sucks! what a crappy remix! put the original or not such a stupid techno remix in that game!
