London MCM Expo sets new record for largest handheld game console party |

While the NPD reports that there has been a decline on portable gaming, gamers that swarmed into the London MCM Expo over the weekend come up big for the handhelds. Event organizers are proud to announce that they've set the new Guinness World Record for the "largest handheld game console party."
More than 580 people brought their Nintendo DS into the Excel London last Saturday, May 29th, outstripping the previous record of 381 held by Australia.
“It is a tremendous achievement for the MCM Expo to reach a number of 586 smashing the existing world record of 381. It’s rare for a UK mass participation to reach over 500.” said Damian Field, Guinness World Records’ Official Adjudicator.
This would be the second record currently being held by the MCM Expo, the other one being the The Largest Gathering of People in Costumes From a Video Game.
