ugh

I love both lego and rockband... but why limit me with this game? Just give me a lego RB download that i can apply to my RB2 and f**k off with your bullsh*t.

by Mister Common Sense - 2009-10-12 09:03
?

Why is this a separate game? For those that love seeing lego characters in even more games, why not just make it a "retard lego character" DLC add on?

WOW one of those legos is supposed to look like david bowie!

by Matt91 - 2009-10-12 09:14
This is what I will be doing

Renting and Paying the ms points to import the songs into rock band. Then return the game right after that.

by ChaosZero112 - 2009-10-12 09:48
I'm impressed

Nice track list.

by Snaku - 2009-10-12 10:00
Yup

Me too.

by Snaku - 2009-10-12 10:03
Actually

That probably won't work. I bet they'll do it the same way they did the AC/DC pack, where it'll come with a code you use to download the songs off of XBL/PSN, so it'll only work if you buy the game.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-12 11:58
WTF!?!?!?!?!

I agree. I can't wait for it. Seeing as how I lost my RB2 save game when I upgraded my PS3 to the slim. For whatever idiotic reason they locked the save game file to the console. Didn't know that until after the restore. Oops. Oh well, I had beaten RB2 anyway.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-12 12:02
WTF!?!?!?!?!

Well, had you or mr common douchebag been able to use your brains properly you would have understood that's not possible.

Lego Rockband is a game that will be suitable for all ages. DLC can't turn RB1 or RB2 into a game that's suitable for all ages....and WTF would you want to? That's about as idiotic as both your posts.

by DarkXCloud - 2009-10-12 13:50
sigh..

it should have been an ad-on instead.

This is like buying a modded Rock band.

by HunterXyron1134 - 2009-10-12 17:12
Muh.............

This is actually a cool idea...in theory at least. I for one am perfectly happy with the 200$ i just spent on TBRB, atleast on that one I get awesome music played by REAL people instead of freakin toys.

by Serosis - 2009-10-12 18:26
...

Sad to say that those "real" people that you are talking about are also computer generated just like these "freakin' toys".

Your logic for not liking the game makes no sense since "real" people recorded all the songs on both games.

I on the other hand don't like these games as it is only a medium to advertise one's music and isn't advanced enough to teach people about music.

tl;dr I like the feeling of a "real" guitar over these miniature plastic replicas with buttons.

by rededbest - 2009-10-12 19:16
@ serosis

Dont u think before u say something stupid? If it wasnt for rock band i wouldnt be getting guitar lessons. it inspire me to learn to play the guitar, so i think it does teach people about music.

by Mr Toasty - 2009-10-13 03:41
erm

ISO...what the hell are you talking about?

A child friendly mode that removes certain songs from the song list via menu options. That's not possible? Right...

The Lego as a DLC would be a huge download but not impossible. It really is the way this should have been done, as a "Kids track pack" download and a "lego graphics conversion" download.

by Mr Toasty - 2009-10-13 03:43
yeah but

there are actual games out for PC where you can plug a real guitar into your computer and play along guitar hero style, the game shows real chords and stuff on the strings

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-13 08:41
WTF!?!?!?!?!

Wrong. That's a pain in the ass. You completely ignored both KIDS and ADULTS playing the same game. What are you going to create? A login to Rockband? Password protect the mature songs? There is no other way to keep kids out and keep letting adults play.

Regulating the game disc is about 100 times better then this idiotic DLC idea. Especialy since most people wouldn't know WTH to do that or set it up properly.

Lego Rockband is a new product. No two ways around it. If you maintain this DLC argument then you must ALSO maintain that the beetles should have been DLC only as well. Again, that would have been lame for all of it's own reasons.

You do realise that the entiore Lego version of this game will be 100% lego themed right? So you would also have to further explain how you are going to switch back and forth between RB1/RB2/LegoRB during boot???? It's dumb no matter how you look at it.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-13 08:43
WTF!?!?!?!?!

...and here you are ASSuming everyone has a PC.

by hush404 - 2009-10-13 10:30
ISO... you're completely insane.

It is completely feasible that they could whip up a new look for rockband that is applied via a menu after you boot up rockband, changing the menus, characters and everything else involved. The core game would be the same, the visuals are the only thing that's changed.

Now, I'm not saying they can't have both a DLC pack and a disc that those "Parents" can buy with song regulation for the youngins, but What I'm saying is Harmonix could of easily provided this as a download for those who wanted the Lego aesthetic without the limitations of the lego RB stand alone disc.

If you still think that's it's completely insane and un-doable then you are helpless. You're simply being retarded.

by hush404 - 2009-10-13 10:36
...

Honestly... ISO?

If you own any current game system and don't have a PC there's something wrong.

I think the idea of plugging real guitars into PCs is something that would take some work and some money as well, so it might not be for everyone... but pulling the "not everyone has a PC" is BS.

- Replying to the original topic (from Serosis), while true the guitar hero / rockband games aren't naturally a step from picking up a real guitar, Rededbest has a point in that these muisc rhythm games get people appreciate the music more and be inspired by to a point where they might go out and pick up a guitar or drums (or another instrument) and learn the skills to play said instruments. It's like a gateway to the world of playing music, more than it is a simulation.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-13 14:28
WTF!?!?!?!?!

Read what you just said. Think about that for a few seconds.

Step 1 - Download a software package that replaces EVERYTHING in RB2 to be Lego.

Step 2 - You now have Lego ONLY RB.

WTF is the point!?!?!?!?! Do you realize that DLC would cost you $60? Or $50 to ditch the box. Then you would no longer have RB2.

HELLO!!!! Are you serious?

Now you don't have RB1 or RB2 anymore.

Plus you NEVER addressed that issue. Is the Lego DLC for RB1 or RB2? Can't be both! If you try to do both you are talking about coding forks from HELL!!!!!

You think all that work, all that planning, all that BS is worth it? You are still paying as much for a whole game.

Again, you people do realize this is a WHOLE NEW GAME right? It's a full game.

So, with that set aside. How the hell does that make sense? Why would you DLC Lego RB into RB1 or RB2 or both? Just make the game downloadable and install on it's own.

My guess is, you guys are ignorant as to what this game actually is and to prove that I like how you skipped over my Beetles example.

You are aware that the game mechanics CHANGED in the Beetles version right?

No, there is absolutely no way in hell DLC could work. You guys keep addressing the smallest of all points and ignoring the rest.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-13 14:34
WTF!?!?!?!?!

You really need to stop. You are embarrassing yourself. If you own a console then something is wrong with that person if they don't own a PC? That is dumbest, more ignorant thing I've heard in a long time.

by damonous - 2009-10-13 15:31
DLC possible, feasible!

@ISOHaven: Time to check-in to a Rage clinic, I think. ...Seriously: I understand your points regarding re-mapping of the menu system, etc. But, unless I'm mistaken, Lego will PLAY *exactly the same* as RB2. No additional vocals/mic-channels like Beatles. So, other than the menus, the songs themselves could certainly be DLC. (And, that's not saying that it's even "impossible" that Beatles couldn't have been DLC...just that that would indeed have been a bit more difficult to integrate due to the additional input-devices.) ..In regards to parental controls: that's all done from the PS3 system menu, as I recall. So, the game could look at the system parental control and key off of that. That being said, I think all anyone's saying here is that, "Hey, I'd like to just be able to play some of those songs, without having to buy a whole other $60 disc --not to mention having to exit/load different discs just to do essentially the same thing." ---And, get over the whole 'but it's got Lego characters'. Once the song loads, it doesn't matter (technically) one iota whether or not they are depicted as stick figures or complete digital replicas of real humans. ...Do you really think that there is an entirely new game-engine behind Rock Band Lego vs RB2? (Heck, I doubt Beatles even uses anything but a 1.1 engine, if that.)

by Mr Toasty - 2009-10-13 15:55
christ man

just spouting nonsense doesn't make it true.

Why would installing a lego pack completely irreversibly change the game? If that were the case then explain the myriad of complete graphic conversion mods for games like UT and half life.

Granted, they do need to be restarted to change the mod most time, but is that so hard? I'd rather flick a menu option than switch a disc.

And uh, yeah? Whats wrong with password protection? You don't need a login, all you need is a password prompt to unlock "inappropriate songs." Even then, most kids old enough to find the menu are old enough to hear those songs anyways. (the game is only rated T for teen after all.)

If you were talking about a platformer or something then I might see your point about change of game mechanics, but this is all stuff that can be modified very quickly and easily.

If these games weren't relatively easy to create then the time between releases wouldn't be a year to six months. It's all a money grab.

I don't recall saying I didn't think the beetles thing was a dumb idea for a new game either. And saying that just because Beetles was on disc means Lego rock band should be on disc as well is a logical fallacy.

By the way, hush said in the first post that he wanted it for RB2, which would make sense. Harmonix stated they thought of RB2 as a platform and that they would build on it (which is why there hasn't been a true RB3). Stop that "forked code" nonsense.

And your last sentence is a gem. WE'RE the ones sweating the small points. You bring up multiple trivial problems and call them insurmountable problems, we're just trying to counter your points.

I don't think this is ever going to get through to you, you'll continue with personal attacks, reaffirmation of the same points and flawed logic. I'm waiting for you to call me on something as ridiculous in my writing as saying that I'm "trying but failing" to counter your points and yet not argue against them except with the same "facts" you've insisted previously.

Are you a scientologist by any chance?

by Mr Toasty - 2009-10-13 16:05
I'm sorry, what?

I was just saying that there are better things out there to learn guitar via game than with Rock Band. You should check it out too Rededbest, since you said you were learning guitar.

By the way...lmfao. you want a dumb, ignorant thing worse than what hush said? read your first post.

I think I *will* assume most people have a PC... we're on the internet.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-13 16:08
WTF!?!?!?!?!

Nothing you said negates any of my points.

You still have not addressed why anyone would package a WHOLE GAME as DLC when you can just package the WHOLE GAME as a WHOLE GAME.

Also, why is this DLC for RB2 only? Why not RB1? If I own RB1 and I want Lego RB then I need to go out and buy RB2 then buy DLC for it that'll cost about 50-60 dollars?

You fail to address the larger issues. You keep harping on idiotic stuff like graphic maps. Who the f@ck cares about that crap? Address the actual show stopping issues.

You're someone who wants to play Lego RB. For some magical reason you have chosen RB2 to get the DLC. That's currently $35. Now add the 50-60 dollar price tag for a new game.

Again, your DLC idea is nothing but pure BS and it's the WORST possible solution for the consumer.

In another message you mention making Lego RB it's own disc game AND have DLC for RB2. Yeah, that makes total sense...NOT! Now you have two completely different Lego RB games that they have to support.

Additionally, your dumb idea to load RB2, no wait, Lego RB, no wait RB2, then switch to Lego RB, no wait RB2, no wait Lego RB..... That's just ignant.

But go on...tell me how character maps are totally possible for the 6th time.

by Mr Toasty - 2009-10-13 17:54
.

"You fail to address the larger issues. You keep harping on idiotic stuff like graphic maps. Who the f@ck cares about that crap? Address the actual show stopping issues."

WHAT ARE YOU EVEN SAYING? LOL

YOU JUST- I CAN'T EVEN-

I have to applaud either your ridiculous inability to have a real debate, or your amazing skills as a troll.

You can and probably will insist on having the last word. Go ahead, this isn't worth the drop in my IQ points from reading your BS.

by Mister Common Sense - 2009-10-13 20:41
just let it go

ISOHeavy desperately wants LEGOS in as many games as possible, wants to pay full price for DLC capable content, and LOVES toys that normally only small children play with.

The TRUTH is, several track packs have been released already for RB, and there is nothing impossible about adding LEGO characters as DLC for the existing game.

by Mister Common Sense - 2009-10-13 20:45
Idiot

Lots of PS3 game saves can't be transferred to another console.

Besides, nobody cares about your petty problems in life.

Could you save your progress from folding protien 24/7? Oh yes, that research has gone NOWHERE.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-14 12:52
WTF!?!?!?!?!

There you go again... you keep ONLY addressing the graphics within the game. You do REALIZE there is MUSIC inside the game right? Music that costs money?

Look morons. There are 45 new songs in the game. I believe the going rate is $1.99 per song? That's $89.55 in DLC for the all those songs. WHY THE F@CK would you rather pay that then $60? Plus, that only includes the MUSIC. That doesn't include the work put into the WHOLE NEW GAME.

The REALITY is the DLC would cost NO LESS THEN $60 anyway even if they gave you a HUGE DEAL on the music and the REST OF THE ENTIRE WHOLE NEW GAME.

Like I keep saying...THERE IS NO GOOD REASON TO TIE LEGO RB TO ANY OLDER RB.

THERE IS NO COST SAVINGS!!!!

So the only argument you have left is that you want MORE FOR LESS. Poor little babies can't afford their gaming habit. Awwwwwwwww...... I'll shed a tear for you all!

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-14 12:53
WTF!?!?!?!?!

1. All my other game saves copied over without a problem.

2. All of my F@H progress is saved online.

You are such a pathetic failure!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-14 14:58
WTF!?!?!?!?!

"I was just saying that there ..."

I replied to hush.

"I think I *will* assume most people have a PC... we're on the internet."

WTF does us being on a blog site have to do with all console owners??? It never ends!

by HunterXyron1134 - 2009-10-14 16:26
What?????

I never said anything about the music in LRB. I just said i preder the Beatles over 95% of whats on disk.

And I play real guirar too, And piano and drums. Yet I still like to play Gh/Rb. One, good music. Two, its just plain old fun to FC a song that is a challenge, moreso than on the guitar, because i get some kind of accomplishment for it, instead of random people in my neighborhood asking me to play Hannah Montan. Shudder.

Anyway, both of your points just outright fail.

by HunterXyron1134 - 2009-10-14 16:32
ISO makes a good point

7 of the people in my class have 360's, two have PS3's and one random guy has a n64 (SSB FTW) and none of them have PC's. In fact, only about 6 people or so have their own, everyone else has just a family pc. And most of them come from the rich subdivisions too.

Fail.

by Mister Common Sense - 2009-10-18 09:23
well....

I guess some people come from some white trash boonies neighborhood where learning is discouraged.

In these areas, low priced game consoles are much more common than even an obsolete PC.

by Mister Common Sense - 2009-10-18 09:30
.

So, to download maybe 5 songs I would actually LIKE to play, it would cost about $10. Is LEGO characters and 40 god awful songs worth an extra $50? Only if you are a complete dumbass......

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-19 09:36
WTF!?!?!?!?!

Thanks for proving my point. This is the problem you have. You're crying about only wanting SOME of the songs. Poor baby. You'll just have to deal with it.

Anyway, the songs aren't awful to everyone. But thanks for the typical child comment you always seem to give.

Don't like the game? Don't buy it.

by ISOHaven - 2009-10-19 09:42
WTF!?!?!?!?!

"white trash"?

"learning is discouraged"?

And you hate it when people call you a jackass...hilarious!!!

by shawnieboy - 2009-10-31 12:57
Retarded

As a wise man once said,
