The new jumbo-sized Nintendo DSi will not only be heading to Japan. A Nintendo spokesperson has confirmed today that the super-sized DSi LL is also due to North America and Europe early next year.

As stated by our previous article, the redesigned DSi will feature a 4.2-inch screen but will have the same pixel count, two touch pens and three pre-installed DSiWare games. Now to give you a good idea of the size difference between the older models and the newly redesigned DSi, take a look at the specs and shot below.

Unfortunately, the company wasn't able to give a specific price point for the large screen DSi as of the moment. DSi LL will launch in Japan on November 21 for JPÂ¥ 20,000 (US$ 220).

could be cool, i absolutely hate the ds but this looks a bit better than the previous models. but the same pixel count thing worries me, if it doesnt enhance the video at all its going to look terrible.

The resolution of the nds is 320x240, if the new ds has some sort hardware filters to "blur" out the pixels it wont look THAT bad, remember the pixels in the ps1?

upscaled it? idk, but i think they should make bigger buttons...

IMO though, i hate the DSLite's small ass buttons :\

a little smaller than the PSP's size sounds good, since the new DSiLL should be around its size

Its actually 256x192, not even QVGA resolution. Its definitely going to look terrible.

The Micro failed because it was smaller...

While the DSi LL will fail because it is larger...

Wait a second....
