Looks like sackboys have nothing on Niko Bellic.Grand Theft Auto IV and LittleBigPlanet both launched on the same week in Japan, and it's pretty clear who the winner is. The PlayStation 3 version of GTA IV sold more than twice LittleBigPlanet did.
It's also worth noting that the PS3 version of GTA IV, which totals up to 133,000, sold almost 4 times the Xbox 360 version did, which sold only 34,000. Despite strong sales, it seems the gamer base of the Xbox 360 still has a ways to go to catch up to the PlayStation 3's.
Here's Japan's top selling games for the week ending on November 2:

- LittleBigPlanet - PS3 - 52,000
- Pocket Monsters Platinum - DS - 47,000
- Wagamama Fashion: Girls Mode - DS - 40,000

- Gran Turismo 5: Prologue Spec III - PS3 - 35,000
- Grand Theft Auto IV - 360 - 34,000
- Aruite Wakaru: Seikatsu Rhythm DS - DS - 26,000
- Cid to Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyuu - DS - 26,000

There is no 'X360 gamer base' in Japan. Whoever has an Xbox also most likely has a PS3. They only use their Xbox to play exclusives for the most part.

There may be no Wii games up there but there are 6 DS games, and the only one that I have heard of is the Pokemon game.
