Is it really a wonderful world when you have to fight for your life?

How wonderful can a wonderful world be if the wondrous wonders of wonderfulness are replaced by wandering wildebeests and creatures of woe? Well, we'll see.

Square Enix's upcoming game for the DS should give us a bright idea of what it isn't. There probably isn't a person on earth who wants to wake up one morning to find out that he has seven days left to live, and has just been informed this by Death himself. Instead of spending those seven days preparing for your eventual demise, you end up fighting aggressively strange versions of normal creatures in the middle of town! It's a Wonderful World doesn't seem so wonderful now, does it?

What is this world coming to when you can't even spend the seven days mandated by Death himself as your final ones in peace and quiet? Guess you'll just have to kill everything in your path. Well, that's the general idea at least. Neck and his companion Tsuki have to work together to find out what exactly is going on and to beat Death's game using their own power, which apparently includes a form of rhythm dancing.

Some of your battles occur on both screens, where you have to tap the arrows accordingly to do attacks against enemies. The main difference is, you have to manage your two characters on the top and bottom screens at pretty much the same time, so the action will definitely be fast-paced. Cast off your doubts and fears and watch this TGS 2006 demo of the game, and remember that the young lady you're with fights with a dancing cat. Insane stuff from the Kingdom Hearts developers, indeed.
