Ó

IO Interactive has quite the pedigree when it comes to action titles: The Hitman series. Freedom Fighters. Kane & Lynch. So how does a cutesy little game like Mini Ninjas fit into the equation? I have no idea. The only reason I can think of is, well, everybody loves ninjas. Except maybe pirates.

Anyway, Mini Ninjas is the latest game from IO Interactive. Players will take on the role of Hiro in a quest to restore harmony to a world and kick some evil Samurai ass in the process. Players also get to use Kuji magic (it can turn enemies into pandas!) and enlist the help of Hiro's Ninja friends on the way to the final showdown with the Evil Samurai Warlord in his Fortress of Doom. Wow. That's some great naming right there.

Seriously, though, Mini Ninjas certainly doesn't look like it can appeal to IO's core demographic, but this is IO we're talking about here! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping for something deeper than what the trailer and screenshots below offer at face value. Mini Ninjas is currently scheduled for a Fall 2009 release on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, and PC.

exactly!

You hit the nail right on the proverbial head, man. A PSP version would be great. I might even pick it up as the longer I stare at the screenshots the more the game grows on me. :P

yay for the pandas!

yes, they are terribly cute!!! if only taking out a panda from china won't bring you to the slammers, and to death row eventually, i would have gotten one for myself.. X_x

Am I the only one who immediatly though of I Ninja when reading the title? Look like a good game, hopefully it'll be such, especially for the Wii version.

Looks incredible.

If Nintendo had created that game I'd use my Wii! funnily enough I'm a huge Hitman fan, hope there are some assassiation missions.

not the only one!

I remembered that game! It wasn't the best game in it's genre but it was damn fun.

Probably because of the usual issues with PSP

Slow load times, bad control interface. I bought a PSP so I can run homebrew and watch DVDs I've converted to MP4. I've got about 8 games I've bought for it too, I find every single one of them except for the GTA ones absolutely frustrating with load times. I've got to admit though I feel like tossing the PSP sometimes with that stupid thumb nub control scheme. If sony released a solid state PSP with a touch screen (ala nintendo DS) I'd be there in a flash.
