Do you want to develop your own homebrew games for the DS but have no idea where to start? Here's a hint: it starts here with "Introduction to Nintendo DS Programming." It's a manual written by Jaeden Amero for people like you.

"Introduction to Nintendo DS Programming" is designed to give you an idea on what goes on inside your DS once you turn on the juice. And with a little effort and time, Jaeden says youÂ’ll be on your way to creating your own games. It covers such topics as the legality of homebrew, displaying backgrounds on both screens, sprites and a bit of game mechanics.

This is not a magic book, however. It's not going to turn you into a prolific member of the homebrew community by simply downloading the file. The author of this manual is assuming you know a bit of C or C++ coding. If you don't know your C and CC++ coding from the Cs in your alphabet soup then get cracking.

Jaeden suggests you spend at least 20 hours making a variety of programs on your own in addition to the exercises included in this tutorial. It doesnÂ’t matter what you write. The important thing is to understand the structs, classes, the heap, loops,
bitwise and logical operators.

The author recommends this manual as a great place to get started learning about making your very own homebrew games. And we agree completely!
