HMV logo - Image 1The UK's HMV is trying to reinvent itself as the store of the future. It seems that one of the best ways to add upon that idea is to add more videogames into their repertoire of sellable items.

According to Simon Fox, HMV's Chief Executive Officer, HMV is going to be distributing more games in its lineup in preparation for their new Store of the Future initiative. Said Fox in an interview with Games Industry,

Games will continue to be a key strategic driver in our plans going forward, increasingly taking up a larger share within our overall product mix - which, in turn, will equate to more trading space in-store and an increased share of the overall games market.

The good news for gamers here is that it'll be easier to find God of War II if you happen to be near an HMV shop. The bad news? No more space for David Hasselhoff CDs on store shelves.
