Quick! Before you take a seat in front of your crowded living room for the Super Bowl, take a few minutes to watch this trailer for Cyanide Studio's Blood Bowl (Xbox 360, PSP, DS). Get a different kind of thrill watching these video game powerhouses tackle and beat each other silly, right before you watch the real-life powerhouses of the Steelers and Cardinals do the same in a bit.

Well, they're no NFL superstars, but these beasts add a fresh dose of carnage into football. Brutality aside, you can create and manage your own teams in Blood Bowljust like in a real sports game. You can also customize your players' gear and looks, take them to the training grounds, and fight it out in the grand stage.

Okay so watch this trailer, then head on over to the couch and cheer for your team. Happy watching!

» just keep waiting

I'm sure nintendo will deliver your sick fantasy bloody game on the wii eventually

» What took so long?

It looks like a 3D version of Mutant League Football. It's surprising that it took so long for someone to think up a new game that had been done 16 years earlier.

» EA.....

I can imagine this game will probably offend the NFL in some way just like Blitz the League. Which, I believe, is good because that's what they get for signing an exclusive deal with EA to make NFL games. I agree I'd like to see a little more blood in this game, but not on the Wii. I'd rather buy it on a system that people actually play after they get done with Bowling.

Looks good, but there's no release date

Nice to see how this is shaping up. About time they release a good Bloodbowl video game. For those that don't know this is based off of a table top miniatures game by Games Workshop the same company that created Warhammer. Tentative release date is Q2 2009.
