Have You Seen My Mama? Cooking Mama Is Hard to Find |
Ó

Ben Kuchera over at Opposable Thumbs has it right: for $20 and a chance to make virtual food, Cooking Mama is a great deal. But he can't find it. His quest to get a copy:
- He went to a game store that had only two copies. They were sold out.
- The next one could hardly cover their pre-orders.
- The third one had a copy. But it was being tried out by an employee. So it wasn't available yet.
- At EB (Gamestop), the game is back-ordered and none of the stores in Ben's area were expecting any more copies.
- Best Buy is sold out.
- Circuit City hasn't heard of the game.
What's our take on this? It looks like game vendors underestimated the demand for this game. And why should they have expected people to look for it? It has no violence (except for boiling things, I suppose). There are no bombs, rockets, or huge explosions (the pot gently simmers most of the time). And Mama is fully clothed. Yet the gameplay and premise of the game has made it something to look for, and the use of the two screens is clever. In other words, if you liked WarioWare, you'll like this game. If you can find it.
Buy (if you can find it!): [Cooking Mama]

Another great article by qj. Its a $20 budget game by Majesco. Yes, its gonna be tough to find.
I hate this game, cause i KNOW i'm gonna be hungry when i play this game!
Ironically, I just bought this game this afternoon, great game!
D:
Toys R Us stores seem to have gotten decent sized shipments. Most with 8-12 copies.
This is what I hate about game shops, the employees think the job entitles them to take stuff home to play and then reseal to sell as new. Oh and I have this game, it's definitely worth getting if you're looking for something fun and different. It certainly beat buying yet another racing game for my PSP!
Um... I dunno, I played this game (gotta G6L/PM3), and I want to like it... but I don't. It's... so... boring! I like quirky little games, but this game is FAR to simple. And there's no real point. You cook food to *gasp* unlock more recipes!! HUZZAH! So you just do the same simple things over and over. Yeah, imma stick with Trauma Center, Pheonix Wright, Metroid, Mario Kart, etc. etc. I've got too many good games to play to waste my time flippin' pork chops in DDR style rythm sequences.
i saw this game at my local gamestop just yesterday, and i was like hey, cooking mama, and got megaman zx. it wasn't that hard to find in nyc
I found this game used as well as Mega Man ZX used. This game is NOT hard to find
its like so boring all u really do is just cook and then stupid mama or watever says great job or oh dont worry mama will fix it??? its just too boring for me i'd rather play mario kart ds and nintendogs and other games besides that its worth ur money ppl dont buy it
