Handheld console causes airport evacuation |

A handheld console device became the reason for an evacuation at one of the terminals in Long Beach Airport in California last Thursday. What happened was while one passenger was passing through the X-ray machine at around 9:30 a.m., the Transportation Security Administration screeners spotted a "suspicious item".
After the hullabaloo has been cleared, it turned out that the said item looked suspicious under the X-ray because it was in raw form, meaning its wiring and inner circuits are showing.
The police and the bomb squad, alongside firefighters were called to the airport. Furthermore, this caused a big delay among the passengers that day. Aside from the several hundred people that were evacuated from the terminal for about one and a half hour, five arriving aircraft were held as well on the tarmac until the all-clear was given.
The agency's spokesperson said that the handheld device belongs to someone who work for "some sort of game or toy company". If you really want to know, the owner wasn't named and the handheld device in question wasn't specified.

"because it was in raw form, " that would indicate that the problem isn't just having the "toy"... it's having the parts exposed. either they replaced the faceplate/casing with a mod (that is less dense than the original). or maybe the person was in the middle of modding it when they were in the middle of packing for the flight, not giving them time to put parts back completely. maybe they're actually someone in the industry trying to figure out ways of improving the device in question. or, they're a total idiot trying to get a bomb scare. you never know.

It wasn't actually a portable gaming system, it was actually a modded n93 (a friend of mine was there when it happenned and he saw when the guy, who my friend describe of nerdy appearance, took the cellpphone out of his pocket and showed it to inspectors when the x ray detected something suspicious.
when im going out of the country i always bring my psp or any handheld devices eg cellphone its impossible~!

Well, I for sure feel glad and safe that they do took this kind of precautions, if this thing COULD have actually been a bomb, ALL OF YOU WOULD have a different reaction to this story and of course, that would also have a new impact on hand held devices on a plane.
A friend of mine had his whole flight delayed because of his emergency shots in case he had an allergic reaction.
