We already know that eBay has got some of the weirdest items ever known to man up for auction, and while this one isn't exactly weird per se, it's definitely worth mentioning.

The item up for grabs? One man's entire video game collection which has been painstakingly amassed over the years (or decades. It depends...) which he is now selling for US$ 25,000. So, why sell your precious collection? It's all for the sake of lurrrve, really, since the money from the auction will go to an engagement ring and a wedding. Isn't that sweet?

As for the swag itself, there are 17 home and portable consoles up for grabs, each one with its own set of wires, accessories and of course its own library of games. The games themselves count to almost 400, and other stuff thrown in the pack are an unopened 60GB PS3, an Xbox 360, a Virtual Boy with twelve of its sixteen total games, and so many, many, many other things.

So go on. Indulge yourself. (We would if we could!) Be the envy of every gamer in your block. Just make sure you have a good relationship with the bank that you'll be taking that loan from, though.

» I want that

Man, if I had that much cash, laying around with no use, I'd get it...

by Spector - 2006-12-15 17:27
» sweet

I wish I could find a Virtual Boy it's so hard to makes my eyes hurt and cause a headache on my own.

by CSFFlame - 2006-12-15 17:39
» welp

I've never gotten a headache or eye pain from my VB.

yes, I have 20/20, my eyesight didn't get worse either.

» like someone would buy this crap

I mean, I owned almost all the consoles, or at least had the emulators and finish almost every RPGs, it's not like having a pile of junk collections is usefull!!!

anyway, I just want the fun stuff, and I don't see where a collection is fun... so I'm playing on my ps2(FFXII) and gamecube(twilig ht princess) on my big HDTV, so the next thing I'll buy is simply component cables, lol. And the ps3 is useless till feb. when bladestorm pop or in june when MGS4 pop :D, and the wii is useless if you have a gamecube( the wiimote have about ½second lag, it's not bad or something, but you can feel it... ) and the xbox 360 have reached it's limit so it's not that uselfull, and anyway the mistwalker games will all port on the ps3 said sakaguchi so...

ps: even for 1500$ I wouln't buy this ( maybe 1000$ because a wii and a ps3 and an xbox 360, it's kinda too to have for only 1000$ lol )

by jayhawker09 - 2006-12-15 20:39
» uh

cuz you know, component cables make it hi-def....

you could hook an atari up with component it doesnt mean its HD

by Joe Mamma - 2006-12-16 00:15
» You an idiot

You have to be the biggest a$$ i ever heard on this comment board. "and the xbox 360 have reached it's limit so it's not that uselfull".. come on man, its only been out one year and there are a slew of games still to come.

why can't people just play the games and have fun.

by Bigzolly - 2006-12-16 01:38
» Seems a bit over priced to me!

I don't think this guy will be able to sell this lot, simply because the older consoles can be snapped up for next to nothing on ebay anyway! I know every one would like this collection but if they actually bought it i feel that they had made a big mistake!

by Lethal - 2006-12-16 02:00
» Joe mamma

Whoever told you the 360 reached its limit is wrong. Graphics improve every year for the same system. You think the PS2 graphics were maxed after a year?

by ahahha - 2006-12-16 03:35
» ahhaha

OR.....

INSTEAD OF SPENDING 25K ON USELESS GARBAGE YOU COULD PUT THAT DOWN ON A DODGE VIPER AND GET YOUR DONG SUCKED EVERY DAY BY HOT CHICKS. MAYBE I'M JUST THE ONLY SMART ONE IN HERE....

by kristian - 2006-12-16 03:35
» I think it would sell...

I am really interested in getting a vb... I had one but it broke. I had fun with it while it lasted - they are so hard to come by these days.

by Reneid Klein - 2006-12-16 05:04
» or the only dumb one

1 - You can't buy a Viper with just 25k

2 - The guy is engaged so he could care less about other chicks

3 - You spelled 'ah haha' wrong the first time...

by 2k1yellows2k - 2006-12-16 06:14
» ...

I still have mine in box, mint. Bought at Toys-R-Us on sale for $30 brand new, right after they bombed. Not for sale, though. +0)

by matt54 - 2006-12-16 06:42
» rip

you can probably get all that for under $25,000 plus the shipping will be through the roof.

by 916ravi - 2006-12-16 07:48
» free

the pic shows that shiping is free but still 25k who would do that

by saigumi - 2006-12-16 08:18
» Unimpressed

Going through the list, I'd pay $10k for it. Max.

Most of the games are in the $1 to $20 category and aren't rare by any stretch of the imagination.

by IodineX - 2006-12-16 09:00
» Wow

Thats a lot of games.

by loocsiaixelsid - 2006-12-16 09:27
» not that impressive

over the years iv collected all of that but a couple (missing the dreamcast and the virtualboy) but other than that his collections not very impressive. theres no old segas in there no ataris and theres no regular nintendo what a shame other than that its a nice collection worth 2k maybe anyone who pays 25 is a complete idiot

by ya - 2006-12-16 09:43
» ya

He said "put the money down" on a viper. As in a down payment. So therefore, you are the idiot. YOU black ding dong lover.

by Avais Khan - 2006-12-16 09:55
» rip off

you can buy all that stuff except for new gen consoles for about $1500 even with new gen consoles its should be about $3500

by smokecoffee - 2006-12-16 10:12
» agree

the only thing that is expensive is the ps3 and xbox 360 that comes to the amazing amount of 1000$ the other consoles, at most, you can get 40$ a piece. an the games probably anywhere from 5-20$. This guy is overcharging for the convince of not buying them separately.

by collection? - 2006-12-16 10:36
» worth it

you gotta think about the classic value of these systems and games. I mean, who can even find a VB or other systems like those anymore. And it's more for the impressiveness of the collection that some rich bastard is going to buy it.

The amount that he's selling it for makes you kind of think how much engagement rings go for these days, damn.

Also you gotta respect the guy giving up his LIFE's video games for his wife.

Damn.

by Mike - 2006-12-16 10:54
» lol

Whipped much?

by ;sdfjl; - 2006-12-16 11:16
» It's too much

I admit, there a couple rarities there, but not 25k worth... not 10k worth

But what is more rediculous is that he has a buy it now price set for SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS....

THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS, JUST 75K AND IT'S YOURS, NO HASSLES

This screams ebay bull***** right down to the wedding, me and my fiancee are getting married this summer, the whole thing won't be more than like 5000 and it's a pretty impressive wedding, we skipped on the honeymoon though, we're just going camping (that can get to another 5k if you let it)

This guy is just trying to make money and thought collecting video games for 15 years might be the way to do it, unfortunately, he is wrong

by Jacob - 2006-12-16 12:28
» idiot

if i was that guy i would sell this stuff i would get a job.

by Lurker - 2006-12-18 05:31
» Hes dreaming

25K, no one is going to buy that. Presently there is 28 mins left, and guess what, no bids.

He will be lucky if he can get 5K for it. There was just a uk auction with 60 gens, 40 dreamcasts, 50 snes, 50 nintendos, a bunch of ps2s and ps1s. and every game imaginable.

And this whole lot sold for 3000 pounds.
