Diamond and Pearl are coming...

Come next year, the whole poke-kingdom will get to catch two new installments in the "gotta catch 'em all" poke-saga. Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl have now found their release date in North America: April 22. By that time, it's going to be the season of trying to complete your pokedex once more as brand new species of pokemon are going to be let out to the wild.

Senior VP for Nintendo America George Harrison expresses his joy with the latest in the Pokemon series:

After recently celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Pokemon franchise continues to get stronger. These two new titles represent the best that Pokemon has to offer, and a great opportunity for Game Boy users to upgrade to Nintendo DS.

Fans in the states might also be pleased to hear that Nintendo will be releasing some limited edition Pokemon styluses for your DS if you pre-order the game in certain participating retailers. There's not much specific info yet on this pre-ordering offer, much less any pics of what the styluses look like, so stay tuned and keep your pokedex on the ready!

Pokemon isnt that cool anymore. In fact it hasn't been "in" for about 5 years. I'm not flaming pokemon but i think it may have overstayed its welcome.

Though Pokémon is not as popular here in the US as it is in Japan, it still have a very large audience. The Trading Card Game still sells as much as Yu-Gi-Oh does. and even Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald were all top games for months after their release.

Bash it as much as you want, but Pokémon is a good game. with a more or less decent storyline. yea it's more of a kid game. but we all still play mario dont we?

@pokefan777: i'm pretty sure it's the real date. all the US Pokémon games are released in the spring in either late april or early may so it sounds about right.

would like to know where to get these custom styluses. i'd think it would be safe to assume that it's probably a gamestop/Eb Games promotion.
