QJ must be talking about a different video than the one posted here. This preview shows plenty of gameplay footage...plenty.
i think the video shows alot of in game gameplay as well, and i think the style of ingame graphics is really cool. can't wait for this to come out, also its like they couldn't find the US release day, its known, its november 1 of this year, the day after final fantasy XII comes out for ps2 and two days after children of mana comes out on october 30. 3 days of buying square games, they are gonna hurt my wallet those three days.
That looks beautiful...I like the 3-D character for map exploration, etc., but I have to admit I was a big fan of the battling sprites in FF7. Though their 3-D sprites were much less impressive, they showcased their character in more detail during battles with amazingly cool sprites, and of course loads of CG. I'm not big into graphics, and they don't bother me at all if the game has a good story,(which i really hope it does) but for some reason I really like watching CG on PSP and DS...it's just really impresses me for some reason...I guess that means I'm old...
Well said, Matt. I totally agree...The game looks beautiful, and I honestly cannot wait. I'm praying that the story is good, because let's face it... FF1 and 2...fun games, yes. Story...yeah, not so much. FF4, however, was simply AMAZING. So here's to hoping.
Oh, and the class system looks bad ass
I really like how this game is turning out. It looks fantastic for a DS game, and stays true to the original, ...but the names they gave em are weird as hell. They're all tolerable though... well, except INGUS. THAT one is just ridiculous. Aside that, it looks like i'll be buying this game when it comes out
yes i can't wait for this remake on DS.
I'll buy it to play on my GF DS Lite.
Then i'm getting nervous each time i think about FFVII : Crysis Core!
Damn Square Soft do you try to give me an heart attack?
Tenshu
In Final Fantasy we trust!
This game looks simply amazing.
Im gonna go cry. brb.
i rather play this game on the psp or ps2 or ps3. that is why some day it will possible on those ,, trust it will.or maybe they will ported it with better graphics and no glitches. its heavy dutty so much data on ds with not enogh room, it only has very little compare it to a disc with 700mb.
Fantastic contribution there, xxx. No one really cares. The game looks beautiful, the DS will handle it amazingly.(...better than the psx handled ff7) Please appreciate the game instead of turning this forum chain into a whiny fanboy graphics rant.
I'm pretty sure that I read that all or most of those cut scenes from the trailer are going to be found in the actual game. They achieved the graphics by combing the graphical power of both screens and during the scenes the screen not being used is blank. Once again correct me if I'm wrong, because I hardly want to start a new rumour.
um get a life you idoit final fantasy came out years ago with there best graphics at the time ok. final fantasy was orginally it was going to be on n64 but it was not good enough to handle, duh. final fantasy 7 had more play time and hardcore beauty back than. don't forget fianl fantasy is going to remade way more better than before and better story. ok johhnny boy wity. okkokoko you stocker
I'm on "IDIOT"? Ok, sorry, I was confused, I thought you said "idoit" for a minute there... Yes, FF7 WAS going to be released for the Ultra64, but SquareSoft wanted to use the CD-Rom based platform because it enable cutscenes, more memory; it was obviously the better choice. I assume this is what you were getting as in your incoherent rant, where you mention "
hardcore beauty" and final fantasy being remade "way more better than before and better story". As far as polygon count and raw power, cutscenes excluded, the N64 DID look better. FF9 was the prettiest game the psx could muster, but even its basic character models and backgrounds were nothing compared to any Zelda on 64. Cutscenes, however, and playtime, yes, were a totally different story. The game on DS will have cutscenes, and will look better than any psx game around, especially FF7, "idoit".
correct me if im wrong but didn't the original ff3 main characters names were terra, locke, and some other people, i forget. there was no rufia or ingus in the original ff3.
how come mario n64 and the mario kart 64 version looks a lot better on original n64 than the ds. come ds like 32bit instead. oh yeah i had gameboy, nintendo, atari, n64, psx, ps2, gba sp, sega gensis.
Why does nintendo keep making a new model can't they get it right the first time. they released 3 gba, 2 nds, 2 gb, and collector editons wtf. can you explain that a purple lamecube with very little game choice. how many mario games are there, that is getting boring. try making new characters. wii wee should be powerful and a little more bigger , it looks like cd drive size . lamecube does have a dvd or cd at all to watch movies or listen to music, come on. why cartidges getting smaller . n64 games were costing 60.00 to 80.00 back then, wtf.
in final fantasy games the americans had to put censorship on the games, japan had no censorship at all. all the nintendo games made here in america had some small changes, they didn't need to, all they should do translate it very well. no blood in mortal kombat 1 on super nintendo, sega had it ,it was fun even falatily. nintendo can't become well mature for older people, no its for 5 years olds,(were is my gamegirl) .good bye morons
ll Final Fantasy Games are stories/ movies, where you have to pay attention and apply a little thought to move the story forward. No exceptions (XI does not count)
#14 - No, the FF3 you're thinking of is actually known as FF6 worldwide, it was however the THIRD FF to release in the States. This FF3 for DS, is the actual third final fantasy, but it never made it to the United states. Much like FF4 with cecil, kain, rosa, edge, etc., that was released as FF2 in the US. This FF3 for DS should be new for anyone who hasn't downloaded a translated JP version. An FF6 remake with Locke, Sabin, etc. is coming to GBA late this year however. Game Informer had an announcement about it this week.
#15 - Actually, Zelda, if you would do a little research you would realize that the raw graphical output isn't that much superior to the Ultra64, but it is rather optimized, much like the Xbox 360 and its unique "EDRAM" setup, if you will. Yes, you are wrong, the polygon count IS in fact higher in DS Mario Kart, and yes, many DS games showcase gorgeous cinematics that were not possible on the restricted Ultra64.
As far as being a Nintendo fanboy, no, I'm not. I was more of a Sony fan after the release of the psx and Xenogears, but I actually enjoy lots of games so limiting myself by taking sides in a scenario where I am the one spending money seems foolish. The only person losing would be me. The "Gamecube" didn't have a good selection of games because Nintendo markets poorly, and sometimes their overdone secrecy and arrogance bites them in the ass, a la Ultra 64
F.Y.I., the Wii will have standard DVD playback, but honestly, I don't really care. See, when I buy my Wii, I'm buying what I like to call a "video game system". It plays "video games". I like them. They're fun. When I want to watch a movie, I turn to my "DVD player". It cost me $40. It's very small, and it works just fine. I don't have an HD TV. The picture looks fine to me, in fact, occasionally I'll pop in an old VHS into my Sony VHS Player and watch a movie that I never replaced with a DVD. See, if I wanted an all-in-one media player, I would have bought one. Last time I checked pal, we were talking about video games. Good try though.
By the way, the only N64 games to EVER sell off the shelves for more than 49.99 in the U.S. was Zelda: Majora's Mask, and Star Fox 64, with the rumble pack included bundle.
You are one dumb mother*****er. Thinking a little before you speak might make it a little less obvious.
Cool, I can't wait for FFVI GBA. that was one of the best FF's ever in my opinion...
#17,18...Dude, you are mean. I never want to meet you in real life, lol. I mean #15 is almost incapable of coherent writing...but... whatever.. FF forever!!
you guys suck at everything with geeky details, that are not capable of getting a life this summer, always blahing about nintendo. blah blah blah = what did you say. porbably they think they are pimps, way too cool for there bling
