With the shortage still plaguing the Nintendo Wii, it looks like things are looking up for its handheld cousin, the DS. And that's not all: Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime has made it clear that Nintendo disapproves of certain retailers unscrupulous Wii bundle practices.FIls-AIme said that "the DS continues to perform exceptionally well with some retailers voicing concerns about DS inventory going into the holiday." On the other hand, Nintendo is aware of the fact that some retailers have resorted to bundling extra games and accessories with their Wiis in stock as an excuse to jack up prices. Fils-Aime had this to say about the practice:
Retailers have already been given feedback that we are not big fans of that. We think it masks some of the price advantage we have versus our competition and, frankly, the consumer should decide what they want.
We don't have to remind retailers of the strength we have right now. We are simply making an observation and that reinforces our point quite nicely with retailers.
It'll be interesting to see how those retailers respond to Fils-Aime's comment.

Just because he doesn't like cartoonish gimmicky child icons doesn't mean he can't appreciate the technology, innovation and fun factors involved in said games.
I personally cannot play any of those games you mentioned. They simply do not appeal to me as a gamer. I had previously tried to enjoy them, but it was all for naught. I bought a Nintendo Wii and a Nintendo DS. I never touched them. It's not that I hate the company or the man, it's just that I hated what was offered to me.
Before you call me a fanboy for getting rid of my Nintendo systems, I also got rid of my PSP recently for those exact reasons. I own a PS3 and an XBOX 360 and truly appreciate all the systems designers for their efforts and their attempts to bring quality games to people.
(PS: Who the hell cares about "classics"? I don't buy systems because of the possibility for emulation of your so-called legends.)
