Famitsu has recently published its list of most wanted games in Japan. Unsurprisingly, the Final Fantasy franchise is still going strong, with Final Fantasy III edging out Final Fantasy XIII for the top spot. Biohazard 5 (Resident Evil 5 for us outside Japan), is in the number three spot, while Metal Gear Solid 4 and Kamaitachi no Yoru round out the top five.Square Enix is certainly enjoying a lot of buzz around its titles, with 3 games in the list's top ten. In what may come as a bit of a surprise, Microsoft has one title on the top ten: Blue Dragon for the Xbox 360. It seems that Microsoft's starting to learn what games it needs to market in Japan to carve out their share of the Japanese gaming market.
Here's the top ten list:

I'm surprised to see Blue Dragon, rising. Good to see. Isn't it getting launched in christmas? (In Japan, that is)
No Wii to be seen here.
7 out of 10 games are for Playstation. Just shows how many good 3rd party companies are behind it. Kamaitachi no yoru is VERY fun. it's like an interactive novel, only way interesting and fun. NO, don't assume. it's WAY more fun than you can ever imagine:P Erm.....FF3 and FF13 FTW!@~!#!~@
Where's Twilight Princess?
This is a Japanese magazine, which is to say that their blatant bias towards Sony is no surprise. But, the interesting thing is how Resident Evil was ranked before MGS4. I dunno about you guys, but MGS has had a lot more info released publicly than RE5. And FF as the highest two games should be no surprise. Remember, they're a Jap magazine.

and where is tekken6? i think tekken6 is one of the most wanted games...
The Wii Dragon quest game is not even on the list and Blue Dragon makes it? Very interesting.
This list was ovoiusly made for the soul purpose of making the Wii look bad. All of its bull crap there no way zelda and mario galaxys wouldent have made the top 10 list so screw it its probly fake

Famitsu has been posting polls since E3, and the Wii and Nintendo dominated those polls (such as the 90% of Japanese people want the Wii, while 16% want PS3s, or some such number). but now that they have something with a positive Sony bent, suddenly they're biased? give me a frickin break, people. you guys seriously disgust me. let Sony have their frickin day in the sun. they've gone through enough BS lately (mostly FUD), let them enjoy this. if those games were coming out for a Nintendo console, you guys wouldn't have a problem with this list. get over it. jesus christ. take joy in the fact that the number one most wanted game is a Nintendo DS title and let it go.
I keep hearing about how the Wii will sweep all the competition away and yet there's not even a single Wii game in that list? HA! popopopoopopo..
I see this as a bad sign for PS3. If the PS3 will be as good as Sony says it will, shouldn't more than three games be on that list? This shows me that either even Japanese people don't like the price, or the PS3 just doesn't have all that many amazing games coming to it (again, this would be because of price. Some developers have already backed out because they're not sure if it will sell well). I think it's kind of sad when your previous gen console has more than twice the titles on a most wanted list as your new one.
Since when did they announce Seiken Densetsu 4 ! I remember playing (import) Seiken Densetsu 3 on my super nintendo, and it friggin kicked ass! Definitly going to check this out right now!. Hope they bring it over to north america.
@#17 it's on ps2, coming for the US in early 2k7 and it's named dawn of mana wow this is a great list, I want almost all those games =D, final fantasy 3 is on top I suppose because A LOT of japanese bought the ds and because ff13 will sell in what, mid-2k7? also resident evil before MGS4 is normal, japanese like metal gear, but don't love, resident evil 4 was WOW, and metal gear solid 3 was GREAT, so I must say resident evil looks reeeaaall sweet. the wii is not here, but I suppose it's because wii games looks cool, not EXTREME, because they are too casual for the hardcore gamers the japanese are, and we don't even have a clue on dragon quest for the wii... ( hoping it's not a stupid hack&slash with the wiimote... ), I'm not supprise for blue dragon, the game looks great ( mistwalker studios.... the BEST ), but I won't buy an xbox 360 only the 2 games..
