Team Ninja and Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for the Nintendo DS looks to deliver some of the best graphics ever seen on a Nintendo DS. This isn't a run of the mill platformer with "Ninja Gaiden" slapped on it as some would expect. The game is viewed from a 3rd person perspective with all the game models rendered in full 3D - much like the console version.

Unlike the console versions of Ninja Gaiden, where each cutscene is presented in full motion video, the game will use a manga-style storybook panel method instead, giving the game an interactive comic book vibe. Adding to this is the fact that the game will ideally be played with the DS in a standing "book-like" position.

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is slated for the US this October 1, so you might want to be on the look out for it then. While waiting, why don't you check out some of the screenshots for the game?
