Here's some good news for those folks who love portable dungeon crawlers. Eidos Interactive has announced that it is bringing Gauntlet to the DS.
According to its press release, this DS version of Gauntlet will sport numerous multiplayer modes and features. For one thing, this game comes with 40 sprawling maps set across three realms.
There's also ranked multiplayer, in the form of Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Treasure Hoard game modes, which are hosted through local Nintendo wireless play or through a WiFi connection.
Making Gauntlet extra special will be the addition of VoIP communication through the microphone, ensuring that you'll be able to yell at your friends when you make a triumphant romp through a dungeon.
If you're interested in going through the gauntlet of monsters and demons and all other sorts of baddies, know that Gauntlet will be available for DS owners later in the year at a currently unspecified date. For now though, enjoy the screenshots we have for this game.
