DS-Xtreme

TeamXodus and DS-X have annouced their first NDS flashcart that will be coming on the market shortly. This comes along side several other NDS flash carts that are the same size as the NDS game cartridge! We originally started to see Passkey/Passme devices form into this new slim, small shape of the NDS cartridge, but it has become a much more popular with development teams using it as a full flashcart. Such products as the NinjaPass, NinjaDS, Ultra Flash Cart, and DSLink have all been housed in a DS cart-sized shell. This new wave of devices comes with drawbacks such as requiring a flashed NDS or a small memory capacity. However, the DS-Xtreme Flashcart will supposedly feature built-in passme support.

TeamXodus's new product, the DS-Xtreme Flashcart, will function as a plug-and-play device with no computer software. You would connect using a USB-B cable to connect your PC's USB-slot directly to the DS cartridge that has a USB-B port at the top of the cartridge. It has been unclear as to how one would go about patching files to play on their DS-Xtreme, but homebrew NDS files do not need to be patched with most devices.

I am definetly thinking about buying one of these things for homebrew. Now that I don't need a Passme or anything like that. But with all the latest releases it is really hard to tell which one to get.

» about homebrew

@ #2, don't expect hombrew too soon, newer devices tend to have poor hombrew support for quite a while when released.

The EZIV still has poor homebrew support and thats been out for a long time now.

» nice

Nice, but still not perfect. I'd like to see a nds-cartridge sized cart, that uses microsd and has a built-in passme.

and is gba-rom support possible with these things or does that really require a gba cart in slot2?

» @ #4

@ #4 just bare in mind that 4Gb (Gigabit) is actually 512MB (megabyte) before making your final decision.

» bit byte

yay

8 Bits to a Byte

That's what my mother always told me LOL, anywas

Looks kewl

Wish it did have expansdable memory, but 512MB isnt too bad for NDS (now my PSP, need my 2GB + 1GB stick for that)

not 1 of the sites mentioned on the official website has any mention of preordering this product. anyone found a site taking orders of a site with any more information?

» mem card

if you buy a DS flash, make sure that it supports external memory sticks, the built in memory ones are terrible because you are always low on space.

M3 and one other, maybe supercard, use mem sticks.
