The DS Lite was initially released in three color variations - Ice Blue, Enamel Navy, and Crystal White. Of course, there's your Jet Black and girly pink DS Lites. Add the Pikachu-ed DS Lite to the list, and you got yourself quite a decent number of models to choose from. But then again, there's always room for customization - that is if you dare mess with the glossy appearance of your DS Lite.
While doing our usual rounds of web-surfing and forums-hopping, we stumbled upon daninski's DS Lite mod over at deviantart.com. Putting his artistic skills to use, he presented a two-toned DS Lite - white inside and blue on the outside. This gives a rather old-school look, but we're loving it! Notice that the D-pad and the two buttons are in blue? It's a great way to avoid the dirty D-pad look after hours of button mashing. We wouldn't be surprised if other color combo mods start popping up after this one.

I'm going to do a Black and white two tone mod similar to this, but I'm waiting for online sellers to start selling replacement shelss for the ds lite, instead of having to buy two ds lites. Can't wait.
I like the idea but am not keen on the chosen colors.
I wouldn't mind seeing a black outside, dark grey inside with purple buttons like the US SNES.
I was going to do black outside, white inside on a white one (oreo) using spray paint, but that could get a little messy and is very tough to make it look good. This guy did a good job. I like the different color X/Y & A/B buttons, as well as the D-Pad, it looks official, and I wouldn't put it past Nintendo that they aren't thinking of numerous different color schemes for the DS Lite... Now all they have to do is friggin' release the Black ones in the states *grumble grumble* -_-
wow. that looks really bad ass. Damn.
...and crossed the DS Lites of a couple of lovebirds I know. now the girl has a white DS with a black lower part, and the guy has the opposite. Looks way cool. They also switched stylus and GBA port cover to finish off the look.
Probably would have looked better if he had painted it blue on the outside instead!
