DS homebrew dev Immir has released a new version of his DS port of the roguelike game Angband. If you've ever tried out Nick McConnel's DS Faangband, this is also worth checking out.

Angband is still a work in progress, hence the "beta" designation in the filename. Here's a list of known issues as well as some stuff that were added recently:

Things done recently
  • Added a column of user buttons down left-side of screen, visible after holding shift for 1 second
  • Fixed stack overflows at end of game; you can now get info, dump record etc (Arrghh, my comp character got lost!)
  • Character creation buttons no longer stay around (buttons still buggy, though)
  • Fixed "loopy" mouse movement bug; character now moves directly to target location (modulo inherent bugs in current path-finding code)
Things being worked on
  • New pathfinding algorithm (A*)
  • Recent command history buttons (repeat older commands, drag to make a button from a history command etc...)
  • Automatic game (red) buttons a la O/FA
  • Improve editing/creation/deletion of user (blue) buttons
Known issues
  • Doesn't power down when game quits
  • Lots of line-too-long issues
  • Notably: character creation information off-screen (erk!)
  • Spurious text button in status area [bugger!]
