Dragon Quest IX - Image 1It  makes one wonder how a smash hit like Dragon Quest IX is not made available worldwide. In Japan, where it was released in last month, the Square Enix RPG for the DS has already sold well over 3.5 million, earning 2 million sales on its launch week alone. So, when's it coming over to our shores?

In a Q&A session, CEO Yoichi Wada disclosed that they are in fact "considering" an overseas release. They still have yet to determine which regions to export the game to, but he did say that they are looking at a possible 2010 release, most likely for the next fiscal year.

Look forward to it, fans.

Square Enix just flat out doesn't give a damn about their fans overseas. I'm just like, 90% convinced of this now. After this, and the announcement of Dissidia being dumbed down, anways. And also, any Special Edition thing that Japan gets, anywhere else either gets nothing or bare minimum. Like Advent Children Complete (No FFXIII demo), or Dissidia (Special Gamestop only bundle, no Special PSP), or Crisis Core (Huge Special Edition PSP in Japan - a neat little single UMD case here), or any of the NDS FF's (Pretty much all got their own Limited Edition DS Lite's)

And that's if the games even make it over...
