Devs talk about more Sega Superstars Tennis features for Wii, DS |
Ó
We already knew that the Nintendo Wii and DS versions of Sumo Digital's Sega Superstars Tennis (also on the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3) will have no form of online support. However, what other goodies can Nintendo fans look forward to in making up for this somewhat sad handicap given to an interesting title?
This question was addressed towards developers Steve Lycett and Travis Ryan as they explained some of the other key features in the game which will make Sega Superstars Tennis just as fun to play even without the online support.
Aside from the fact that you get to represent your favorite Sega character among the 16 chosen playable icons for the game, each of the different tennis courts will also feature some of the iconic stages seen across the different Sega titles. For example, Sonic's Green Hill Zone will get its own court complete with its trademark music track, sound effects as well as other distinguishing features.
In addition, the developers revealed some of the fun mini-games which players can participate in between the regular tennis matches. Perhaps one of the most interesting mini-games would have to be the one based on the House of the Dead series. Much like the original game, you have to mow down endless hordes of zombies using your "l33t" tennis skills as they spawn across both sides of the net.
Since this isn't the first tennis game made for either Nintendo platform, you can expect the developers to make use of the same set of intuitive controls that made similar titles such an enjoyable experience for gamers. It was mentioned that the Wii version will make use of either the Wiimote or the Nunchuk combination for its slick motion sensing controls when using characters in the game. However, there will also be options to use to a classic controller if playing with a Wii Remote just isn't your style.
Lastly, the developers mentioned that downloadable content may also be a possible option for them to explore should the game get a good response once it's released. We'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this game once it goes live this March 18, so keep coming back to this space for more updates.
