So if Dimensions will take after Dead or Alive 4, then would it also have a tough counter system in place, too? According to Hayashi, they opted to make the game newbie friendly. “The game’s fighting system is based on Dead or Alive 4 but it has been tweaked so
that it is easier to pick up and play,” he said. “The basic gameplay is the same but each character has brand new techniques at their disposal.”

That said, the chief Ninja said that they will be implementing a new counter system which was based from Dead or Alive 3, which is a much easier system to grasp. “There was quite a bit of feedback given to us by players saying that the general game system in Dead or Alive 4 was extremely difficult. Using this feedback, we reviewed the entire game system from scratch,” he explained.
As intuitive as the DoA3 counter was, however, it still had problems of its own, which is why Team Ninja still had to put some more hours into developing the one for Dimensions.
