Corporate bloodletting: Harrison, Kaplan, and Llewelyn to leave NoA |
Ó
The last time we heard about Nintendo of America's (NoA) big decision to move from its headquarters in Redmond, employees working in the legendary company had been given a deadline to decide whether or not to pack up and follow suit.
Now that the deadline's pretty much here, things turned out bloodier than expected: approximately 90% of the Sales and Marketing staff of Nintendo of America have declined to make the move and opted for the severance package instead, thereby leaving the company all together.
It's not just the regular employees who called it quits, however - three major figures in the NoA hierarchy have also hung up their guns namely:
- Senior Director of Public Relations Beth Llewelyn
- Vice President for Marking and Corporate Affairs Perrin Kaplan
- Senior Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison
So this pretty much leaves things up in the air on what's in store for Nintendo. A bloody day indeed for Ninty of America. Updates as we get them.

and i thought all was well in nintendo, it will hurt them as a business, but it will be funny if Reggie gets a job at sony or microsoft. (OUCH what a kick in the nads that would be)
They don't mean that Reggie is quitting, just that he might not be moving with Marketing + PR to NY or SF.
This is horrible. Harrison and Kaplan were a major part of PR for nintendo and were recognized by gamers everywhere. What is going on lately. Sony is downsizing its game division and Nintendo is losing some big PR names. Whats next, Peter Moore quitting and working on the Dreamcast 2?
