Castlevania movie adaptation gets new writer, director |
Ó
A development has just happened for the upcoming movie adaptation of the successful video game franchise Castlevania. According to horror film website Bloody-Disgusting, Paul W.S. Anderson is no longer part of the project as the director "wanted to focus" on his remake of Death Race. What happens now to the movie Castlevania? According to the said website, the new director is going to be Sylvain White and the whole script is being revamped by Ian Jeffers. One of White's latest projects is the movie Stomp the Yard while Jeffers is mostly known for his adaptation of Death Sentence featuring the actor Kevin Bacon.
It should be remembered that Paul W.S. Anderson mentioned back in March of this year that he will remain actively involved in the movie adaptation no matter what happens because he has grown attached to it. It is still unclear as of now whether Rogue Pictures would want to retain some of Anderson's ideas for Castlevania.
To help you decide if this development is a good thing or not, be informed that part of Anderson's plot for the movie adaptation includes a knight from Transylvania hiding from the Turkish Army in Dracula's castle.

Huh? Am I supposed to say something?
anderson is a great director but a terrible storywriter, so for fans of this game, having him removed from taking part in creating the story or script is a good thing... just a pity he didnt stay on as director
and for the record, him doing death race is pathetic. the original was great, no doubt his new film will be full of crashes, explosions, gore, but none of what made the original great.
Thank you gods!
Paul is in the Uwe catagoty of horrible directors and if someone has to butcher the Castlevania franchise I rather it not be him. Teh movie will still suck though, that's just the way Hollywood works.
Should be just as good as Bloodrayne, that was a train wreck. Ben Kinsley... you could have said no.
Bunch of dancing black vampires IMO
AMIRITE?
Bloodrayne had that special power to make an Oscar winner did really *****ty acting.. it has its power. I hope they drop the movie completey ... SH is about the best a game movie can ever get...
