Castlevania: Devilish Resemblance - Castlevania NES remake on DS |
Ó
Homebrew developer Frosty Chaotix released an early version of a very promising homebrew game for the Nintendo DS. Fans of the famed vampire hunter Simon Belmont better take a look at this remake of the first Castlevania game called Castlevania: Devilish Resemblance.
As screenshots on top would tell you, the game is shaping up to glorify the first title that gave us control of a whip-swinging hunter trying to kill Count Dracula. This version of Castlevania: Devilish Resemblance already has movement, attacking, audio, life bars, and heart counters nailed.
According to Frosty Chaotix, the engine now only needs enemies, interactive objects, and items to work. The idea of giving Simon a special move ala Richter's Item Crash is also up in the air. The download below lets you play a test map to jump around and swing your whip. We're sure to watch this DS homebrew game's development, so watch this space for updates!
