Ó

Tricia Helfer! Cylon 6! In Spider-man: Web of Shadows! Voicing Black Cat! It's so cool I can't speak in straight sentences. But then again, I'm a Battlestar Galactica fan, so you can probably expect me to pounce on anything BSG-related (see BSG geek trivia below*).

In this video interview, we hear Tricia Helfer's take on Black Cat's character. If any of you have seen BSG, you might instantly surmise that the role was cut out for her. The way Tricia Helfer describes it, there seems to be some parallelisms between Cylon 6 and Black Cat.

Activision's Spider-man: Web of Shadows will be released on the PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo Wii, and DS on October 21.

* - As an aside (especially for other BSG fans like myself), I've noticed that a handful of the BSG cast have already gotten roles to fill in video games. Let's see...
I'm not sure if I've covered all the base(star)s, but to my knowledge, yeah, that's about it. The more recent games with BSG cast, at least.

» Tricia Helfer!

I adore you. Wish you were the model for Black Cat as well.

» Kicking Spidey's Ass?

Why is Black Cat able to knock the crap out of Spidey in the demo? She can lift about 800 pounds... Spidey can lift 20,000. It would be the most once sided fist-fight since Ike and Tina Turner.

» actually...

In the comics, she starts off a relatively weak character but eventually gets super powers through genetic alteration and magic (Doctor Strange). From the looks of the fighting style in the video; this game depicts her with full magic influence.

» I didn't know this till just now..

Apparently Tricia Helfer voices Black Cat in the Spectacular Spiderman animated series.

» Who cares?

It's fiction, anything can happen. Just enjoy the movie and don't nitpick it.

» oops

I meant to say 'game', not movie.

» @ NeilR

Actuallly... her current state in the comics is that she's lost all superhuman abilities. She has servos in her suit that give her her limited strength. She would be no match at all for Spiderman.

@3vl1

ok... when you say... "her current state in comics..." which universe, story arc, parallel dimension, author you talking about? hehehhe! with marvel, you never know! it's like different authors (sometimes the same author) would ret-con each other (or themselves)! hehehe!

i haven't followed marvel comics of late. the only time i really ever got hooked was back in the early 90s to mid-90s. i only hear about marvel from a couple friends...

if you say "lost all superhuman abilities"... i'm guessing this is post-House of M? aka "the story where scarlet witch throws the super mega b!tchfit of all time?" pretty much everyone either died or lost their powers after that, right? (but then got resurrected or got their powers back in some parallel dimension, etc etc LOL)

» WOW

i've never heard of this spiderman tv series. (sorry, i'm not much of a tv person, and we hardly get good shows here on cable in my country)

thanks for sharing! do they have a dvd out yet? ooooh i wanna watch! plus of course it's got tricia helfer! and lacey chabert (omg meangirls gretchen weiners LOL!)!

the animation and style looks just like my cup of tea. very... justiceleauge/samuraijack/avatar-ish.

oh and thanks @ Gino D. for the trivia about the bsg cast in video games! all your basestar are belong to us! woot! i wonder if there's more bsg people in the videogame industry... hmmm

on topic tho, i really want to get this game already!!! looks like a relatively good game to follow up my playthrough of force unleashed. tho it's a shame, they should have gotten tricia helfer to do motion capture, and not just voice. XD

» what i hate

i always loved spider man's idea..comics..games..put i never could stand the movies..that guy could never pass as a super hero..more like a high school frecklle faced teen..at some point he even resembles conan o'brien! check it out im not kidding! when will they start giving out his role to more masculane actors like all the other super heros..batman..superman..hulk etc etc..even the shadow was better than spiderman 1+2+3 combined..at least it had a story..thats my 2 cents
