Here's a nice treat for the DKC fans - from the massive melting pot that is YouTube comes two music mash-ups featuring the music from Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3. What's interesting here is that some music across those two titles are actually very similar, and even DKC fans would appreciate the seemless transition between the tracks. Grab your headphones or turn up your speakers - this one's gonna take you back to the good ol' days.

This first mash-up combines the music from the mining stages of DKC2, such as Kannon's Klaim, and the canyon climbers of DKC3, like Ropey Rumpus (and yes, I still remember the stages).

This next one combines the lava-jumping music of stages like Hot Head Hop and Red Hot Ride from DKC2 and the music from the tree-scaling stages from DKC 3, like the one we heard from Ripsaw Rage.

Now that I've heard them, I can't believe that I didn't notice before, considering that DKC is one of my favorites on the SNES. Then again, this is coming from a guy who only realized that "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and the Alphabet Song shared the same melody when he was 20.

This music gives me the creeps.. Maybe it's a weird nostalgia feeling, but I used to play on my Gameboy and like.. the music is almost eery. It's good but it reminds me of like.. a seemingly forced happy place that's actually hiding very bad things.. I don't know..
