Starbreeze's Syndicate is real - Image 1Because it's turning out to be a slow news day in the wild, wild world of video gaming, we're following up on a rumor - with another rumor. Huzzah.

You guys remember Syndicate? The cyberpunk game of yesteryear? An anonymous source popped up last week to say that a new Syndicate game was in the works.

This week, another one chimed in to say that it is "definitely real." Don't know how much cred I can give an anonymous source - much less two anonymous sources - but if you're the trusting non-skeptic kind, then I'd say you should look forward to a future Syndicate game.

Then again, there's a good chance these are planted sources to get some hype up for a real game. Just cross your fingers on this one and we'll keep you updated once we get some official confirmation.

Originally owned property of Bullfrog Productions (Peter Molyneux's stomping grounds) and one of my all time favorite game developers, the game is going to be done by EA this time. Release unannounced at this time.

The general idea behind Syndicate was that you were basically taking down a rival syndicate by means of persuasion and assassination.

As for my opinion, since this game is a childhood favorite of mine I fear EA will butcher it. Simple as that. Leave it be EA! Leave it be.

Was an excellent game back in the day, with the pc version being the best of the lot. The snes version wasn`t too bad either, though its best viewed as a different game on its own.

Key exciting moments in the game: Sitting you 4 syndicate agents in the middle of main road, setting their reflexes and adreniline to max, and watching them mow down 200 enemy syndicate troops without having to even touch a button. Classic.
