Grand Theft Auto likely be ported to Apple's iPhone platform - Image 1Steve Jobs once said that the iPod Touch is the best portable device for playing games on. Now, we may actually have a point of reference to see if he's right, if this analyst's prediction proves to be correct.

According to Mike Hickey, video game analyst for Janco Partners, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS will most likely be ported to the iPhone (which would most likely mean it will appear for the iPod Touch as well.).

I say Steve Jobs should take on the challenge and ask Rockstar to port the game, if he wasn't already thinking about it, just to prove once and for all just how the iPhone stands up to test as a gaming platform - compared to the DS at least.

Hickey isn't through making predictions yet though. Hickey believes that Rockstar's Houser brothers will not leave Take-Two when their contract expires this February (which is good news for Take-Two if it happens). According to Hickey:

We find it unlikely that the Houser brothers would leave Take-Two Interactive for a competitor, as loyalty, compensation, culture and compelling IP should be sufficient in aggregate to leave employment alternatives unappealing.

Ok...I suppose in a way this could be good news for iPhone users..but why is it posted in the PS3 section?

Anyways, I doubt that it is even possible, nor do I understand why it would be done in the 1st place.

How the heck would you play a game like that on the iPhone?

Analysts are getting stupider each year...

It's posted in categories outside the iPhone because the analyst also talked about the Houser brothers of Rockstar Games, which affects game franchises across all three next-gen platforms, like Bully and Grand Theft Auto.
